Whenever I look at my stairway board, I feel disoriented. This reminds me that I need to put in my favorite stairs, Escher's.
I know I'm on Proustitute's Twitter, but I'm not sure about tumblr. I need to sign up for that. But I'm as active on that as I am on Twitter, which is barely. Speaking of Nabokov, I'm getting tired of non-fiction, although I'm learning a lot about the result of our actions, however innocent the intention. I need to get going with my goal of reading all of Nabokov's work this year.
Looks like we'll lose you to Pinterest, Reem. LOL. I've fleshed out my boards within a short time. It's a great way to plan and be inspired visually. I had an epiphany while working on my portal board that a tunnel is composed of an infinite set of portals, until the limit at the end of the tunnel is reached. So I searched for tunnels to put into my portal board.

It will go quickly moving forward, Tom. You'll also start to see what is meant by Proust being inspired by Wagner's leitmotif theme, in particular the Ring Cycle.
http://pinterest.com/thoa817/I haven't uploaded my photo work, so my personal board is skimpy. But there are tons of stuff in my profile that's not mine.
Welcome back, Jocelyne! Did you take pictures of your trip. I would love to see it. I've been a Pinterest addict and adding scenic pictures to my boards. So many beautiful places in the world!

Ooh, how I wanted to say something like that. I've been behaving lately, putting proper citations at the History Book Club. I'm tempted to let loose at the PNR or Horror forum. Love your posts, Patricia!

These private visits are a luxury... no crowds."
I love looking at paintings when I'm not fighting the crowd. Enjoy your tour, Kal!
Kalliope wrote: "Aloha, since you are an artist you should work on something similar with madeleines..."The thought occurred to me, but I didn't want to spend time Photoshoping the madeleines into pictures. Baguettes will have to do. It would have been amusing, though. Madeleine earrings, madeleine computer mouse, madeleine castanets... I did Photoshoped guy's heads in the Horror forum onto almost nude male bodies and featured them as flavor of the month.
I want to share a change in perception after reading Proust. I'm also a member of a group reading Women and Men. There's a ton of passages on the feminist Grace Kimball and her bicycle. Since I read W&M before I read Proust, that did not take on particular significance, except that I noted it must have special meaning in W&M since he used the symbolism a lot. Then I read Proust and William Carter's The Proustian Quest, which noted the bicycle's significance in relation to Albertine, representing the liberation of the long skirt confined 19th century woman by attaching the freedom and speed of the bicycle wheels to her legs.OMG! William Carter's bio on Proust is available as an eBook! Time to click buy! I need three heads, one for Proust, one for Women & Men since the forum is stirring again, and one for the Middle East.

Welcome, Polly! You can join us in the Group Lounge for general chit-chat. We hang around there a lot.
Thanks, Reem. It's so difficult keeping up with all the extracurricular fun, since I keep on finding them! I'm staying up too late Pinteresting. I should be asleep now. Good night!
Welcome, Tony! Looks like you've pretty much got it figured out this time around. I agree that we don't need another schedule. It will just make everything more confusing, since this forum is so rich in material. Just read and post in the threads pertaining to the section as you go along and someone will pop in to respond. If it's met with silence, then go into the Group Lounge, since we seem to be peeping in here most often.

I'm in the category where I read it all quickly, and am taking a detour somewhere else. I plan to come back once my current obsession wears off.

It was on my list to read, but reading about the Middle East is sucking me in at the moment. It's so interesting, I don't want to stop. And I'm reading all the news on the area, too.
