There are a few that match that description. Body of Lies by Sarah Bailey springs to mind. I'll add more to this comment as I think of them.

The Hitwoman's Guide to Reducing Household Debt by Mark Mupotsa-Russell and The Unbelieved by Vikki Petraitis both fit the basic plot, but in the former the central character is a retired assassin, and the latter is now 3 years post-publication.
