That's actually pretty good, isn't it? Only 1 or 2 not so great books out of 30 or so. So glad that you're enjoying so many of your books!

I understand about not liking epilogues. There's something about them just telling instead of showing which takes away from the story sometimes.

Hi Otto! Welcome to our group, fellow bookworm! It's great you're getting back into reading. I hope you find a nice balance with work and study.

30 books is an excellent goal! We'll be cheering you on as you reach it. We have various challenges — monthly, quarterly, and yearly — to help motivate you. We also have TBR Twins, Buddy Reads, and Group Reads for discussions and interacting with other people, so you'll definitely have opportunities to connect with others.

Fantasy, high fantasy, non-fiction, and classics are a great mix. Looking forward to chatting with you and seeing what you read! Happy reading!

That's great that you know your limits. Reading should be enjoyable. One shouldn't feel pressure, otherwise it becomes a chore. You can do it!

Yay for kicking the reading slump to the curb!

I've set The Girl Who Reads on the Métro aside as a readathon read, which is perfect as we have a readathon coming up next month. 😁

If you're a fantasy fan and loved The House in the Cerulean Sea, I don't think you can go wrong with the other T.J. Klune books. I just read the sequel, Somewhere Beyond the Sea, which was a little more serious but just as heartwarming. I also enjoyed Under the Whispering Door. Legends & Lattes was an enjoyable read, too.

58421 Oh, I'm so glad you found your challenge again and updated your progress, Svenja! I took another look at your list and just realized I also plan on reading Throne of Glass (I'm up to the 4th book) and King of Scars (I'd like to read the duology.)

And thanks! I'm having a pretty good year. I've been trying to be more conscientious of reading better books and being better about rating books.

58421 Yay for more time for yourself!

Thanks for the heads up for The Selection. I was hesitant after reading the summary for The Heir but I also just want to finish to series to check it off my list.

What an awesome perk of the job! I've heard of others being able to listen to audiobooks at work, but I've never had been so lucky myself.

Yes, Hamnet has stuck with me. Sadly, I didn't really enjoy her following book, The Marriage Portrait that much though.

58421 Hi Homi! Hope all is okay and you are making good progress on your goal.

My favorite reads so far? I've enjoyed so many. I've really been trying to be more conscientious of picking better books. Also rating books better because I think I used to be rather stingy with my ratings. The first ones that come to mind are:
Piranesi, Spinning Silver, Somewhere Beyond the Sea, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi (Novel) Vol. 1, James, The Brides of High Hill, to name a few.

I hope you are enjoying some awesome books! Happy reading!

Happy reading!

58421 Hi David! Hope all is okay and you're making good progress on your goal. You've got your plate full, so it's pretty awesome that you're still able to read so much! I know my personal reading suffered quite a bit when I was in school and working. I hope that you are reading lots of amazing books so far this year! Happy reading!

58421 Hi Dani! Hope all is well, you're making good progress on your goal, and managing to declutter your bookshelf.

I've got The Husky and His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun (Novel) Vol. 1 on my TBR. I keep getting it recommended to me since I just finished reading Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi (Novel) Vol. 1. So I'm tempted to read it sooner than later.

Hope you are enjoying lots of terrific books! Happy reading!
58421 Wow, Claire! Looks like you've decimated your goal already! Hope that there have been a lot of fabulous books in your reading journey so far this year! Do you have any new favorites? Happy reading!
