A coming-of-age tale of fanfiction, family, and first love.
Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan.... But for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she's really good at it. She and her twin, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it's what got them through their mother leaving.
Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fanfiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go. She doesn't want to.
Now that they're going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn't want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She's got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend; a fiction-writing professor who thinks fanfiction is the end of the civilized world; a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words... and she can't stop worrying about her dad, who's loving and fragile and has never really been alone.
For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

I set my goal at 30 books this year and I'm at 93 now so you might say I am doing alright lol Now I am hoping to reach 100 by New Year's Eve. Let's see what happens!! Good luck to everyone trying to meet their goals in time but remember the true joy is in reading itself.

I’m Your Biggest Fan
Do you have a favorite singer, actor/actress, athlete, or other celebrity? How about a challenge to show your loyalty? Read books tha..."
I love this idea!

Fandom Terms
TASKS:
"Fans are great. Fandom is weird." - Terry Pratchett
1. Fandom: The term used for the collective of fans for any given work, person, or another thing, that came together for mutual benefit... Do a buddy read with someone this month or read a book featuring a group of characters united for a cause.
2. Fangirl: Someone describing herself as a fangirl is usually expressing enthusiasm for their favorite subject... Re-read a favorite book or read one that you have heard others rave about.
3. Fan Convention: Or just Convention or Con. This is where fans of a particular franchise, creator, or work all meet together, discuss it and ask questions to the stars. A number turn up in costume... Read a book involving travel or a book featuring someone on the cover in costume or wearing a colorful outfit.
4. Fanon: Fans' interpretation of details not explained or shown in the actual work... Read a fiction book or an alternate history book.
5. Friendly Fandoms: The fandoms of two different works get along rather well, to the point that being a fan of one work makes it likely you're a fan of the other... Read a book about friendship or a book in a genre you particularly love.
6. Furry Fandom: A furry is a fan of anthropomorphic animal characters (or "anthros", as they commonly abbreviate it to). The majority of the fandom consists of people who enjoy fiction and art revolving around anthropomorphic animal characters, ranging from independently written stories and comic books to established, mainstream franchises, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pokémon, The Lion King, etc... Read a book about animals or art.
7. Fan Fiction: Fan Fiction is a form of Alternate or Expanded Universe created by the fans of a work, rather than the work's original creator... Read a book about books/writing or a book in a spin-off series.
8. Unpopular Popular Character: The fanbase loves a single character but the creators hate it... Read a book that has lower than a 3.5 rating on Goodreads or has less than 500 reviews.
9. Fandom Heresy: If you disagree with a viewpoint most other fans have, the rest of the fandom will turn on you... Read a book from the Favorite Books That Were Once Banned list or on a topic you're unfamiliar with or uncertain about.
10. Shipping: Rooting for fictional romance to happen... Read a love story or a book with a happy ending.
(I would prefer not to lead but I will if needed)

Thanks so much!
