yes, how dare work distract you from your reading...

I think its because they are so different to the standard mystery fare in the US (at least from my perspective) - the policemen/detectives seem more realistic - they fail; cases go cold...whereas in most mysterys in the US its like wham, bam, case solved ma'am

we have the author of the month thread, other than that, just the currently reading thread - we are fairly downlow and chill

Belay that library doesn't have The Beast - going with book 2 - box 21 (in the US) and the vault (UK)

I'm going to start at the beginning wih The Beast - Naomi recommended it but I've not yet read it

ok, that sounds really good...adds to the list

Naomi gave me a kind poke today to remind me that I hadn't posted June's Author of the Month yet...lol!
so without preludes...drumroll please, our own group member -
James Thompsonhis new book in the Kari Vaara series came out in March
So which of his 4 books are you guys going to read?

Naomi and I also use NetGalley and Edelweiss where we get ARC's to review - if either of us find potential books/authors we go and see what else they have written

i haven't read any of hers - so i'm grabbing
Sun Storm from the library

Would you believe that I had posting this down on my list of things to do and then I got distracted...
anyways, our May author is going to be Åsa Larsson - we figured after having a couple of newer authors for March/April, that we would go with someone who has a few more books out for May.
So what are you going to read?

It's not April yet missy!!! Lol

Our author of the month for April is going to be
Viktor Arnar Ingólfsson - his second book in English was just released not long ago
The Flatey EnigmaHouse of Evidence

nope and I won't read 4 until next year probably - its been torture having it staring at me

ahh but you see, with my methodology, I don't get stuck in the waiting game for the next installment ;)

i'm behind on jim's stuff too - planning on start HW this weekend (I wanted to wait until book 4 was out), and then i'll hold off on Book 4, until 5 is nearly out...yes, i'm that nuts

if anyone has amazon prime and a Kindle, like Naomi said, you can borrow it for free for the month - so something to consider

this is another series I need to get back to - i was listening to the audiobooks...ugh, so many books, so little time

now that its March - how many ppl have tried Mari's book yet, or are you waiting? i'm hoping to start it today, but I feel a headache brewing so we'll see

i'm getting ready to start
Unseen

yeah, I was the same way, which I think is what contributed to my confusion/leery-ness early on - i was expecting more of a trad. police procedural
