52781 I think its because they are so different to the standard mystery fare in the US (at least from my perspective) - the policemen/detectives seem more realistic - they fail; cases go cold...whereas in most mysterys in the US its like wham, bam, case solved ma'am

52781 we have the author of the month thread, other than that, just the currently reading thread - we are fairly downlow and chill
52781 Belay that library doesn't have The Beast - going with book 2 - box 21 (in the US) and the vault (UK)
52781 I'm going to start at the beginning wih The Beast - Naomi recommended it but I've not yet read it

52781 Naomi gave me a kind poke today to remind me that I hadn't posted June's Author of the Month yet...lol!

52781 Naomi and I also use NetGalley and Edelweiss where we get ARC's to review - if either of us find potential books/authors we go and see what else they have written

52781 i haven't read any of hers - so i'm grabbing Sun Storm from the library

52781 Would you believe that I had posting this down on my list of things to do and then I got distracted...

anyways, our May author is going to be Åsa Larsson - we figured after having a couple of newer authors for March/April, that we would go with someone who has a few more books out for May.

So what are you going to read?
Mar 31, 2013 05:48AM

52781 It's not April yet missy!!! Lol
Mar 30, 2013 06:11PM

52781 Our author of the month for April is going to be Viktor Arnar Ingólfsson - his second book in English was just released not long ago

The Flatey Enigma
House of Evidence

52781 nope and I won't read 4 until next year probably - its been torture having it staring at me
Mar 25, 2013 10:33AM

52781 ahh but you see, with my methodology, I don't get stuck in the waiting game for the next installment ;)
Mar 20, 2013 05:49PM

52781 i'm behind on jim's stuff too - planning on start HW this weekend (I wanted to wait until book 4 was out), and then i'll hold off on Book 4, until 5 is nearly out...yes, i'm that nuts
Mar 08, 2013 07:32AM

52781 if anyone has amazon prime and a Kindle, like Naomi said, you can borrow it for free for the month - so something to consider
Mar 04, 2013 01:54PM

52781 this is another series I need to get back to - i was listening to the audiobooks...ugh, so many books, so little time
Mar 04, 2013 04:46AM

52781 now that its March - how many ppl have tried Mari's book yet, or are you waiting? i'm hoping to start it today, but I feel a headache brewing so we'll see
Mar 04, 2013 04:45AM

52781 i'm getting ready to start Unseen
Feb 27, 2013 06:56AM

52781 yeah, I was the same way, which I think is what contributed to my confusion/leery-ness early on - i was expecting more of a trad. police procedural
