No one just mentioned using Amazon HOWEVER the specific case I was discussing above - the book had not been translated into English - amazon bought the rights and had it translated...

It's their publishing branch for translated works; kinda like montlake is their romance one

I've almost for the first time reached max number of books...

Maybe just when it caught the eye of the acquiring publisher - our featured author this month was picked by amazon crossing (I think) but it was book 6 in the series

The second one was on the new release shelf at my local crack house - so I grabbed it and requested the first one

I just picked up a Japanese mystery that looked good -
Daughter of the Sword

Our March Author of the Month is Jussi Adler-Olsen.
about JussiJussi Adler-Olsen was born in Copenhagen and studied medicine, sociology, politics and film. He worked as a magazine editor and publisher before starting to write fiction. So far he has written four Department Q thrillers, which all hit the Danish bestseller lists on publication and stayed there ever since.

Helen - it looks like (per Amazon) - there is one due out in August

its weird - I liked the 3rd book in the Camilla Lackberg series (The Stonecutter), but when I went back and listened to the Ice Princess - I just didn't enjoy it as well...same narrator and everything

you think you would have learnt by now...lol! I always check GR before I request books to see if they are a series or not - because i've gotten bitten and requested like book 5 or 6

I did see that book 8 is going to be released in english in August...
the author is a GR author - maybe asking him if there is any plan on earlier books

I ordered Dregs - my library didn't have, neither did any of the others in the state - so after I read it, my co-moderator in crime (naomi) is going to borrow it, and then i'm going to donate to the library

I finished up
Missing the other day - I didn't enjoy it as much as Betrayal but it was interesting, I liked the POV used

Our February Author of the Month is Jørn Lier Horst
Like seems to be the tradition with a lot of NN authors, only a few books in his series have been released in English - but hopefully we will see more in the future.

i'm readnig Burned right now and enjoying it - its interesting...kind of reminded me of Sara Blaedel with the honor killing stuff

i picked up
A Darker Shade of Sweden at the bookstore over the weekend - hoping to find some new authors for us to check out in the future (or to stalk, as the case may be)

might have to check this out ;)

but Erin - that makes too much sense!!
