I say go with Bridget's suggestion of Poison Princess, should fit your list well. What did you think of Maze Runner and Raven Boys?

That's a bummer. I didn't get past the first book yet! lol

This was one of my favorite non-traditional vamp series. The dystopian aspect was a neat twist, and the plot was really unique.

Yay! Can't wait for you to read this one, it's slower-paced as far as the romance goes but there's lots of torment as it goes. And the writing is just SO sweet!!

Very sorry to hear about your mom and your struggles, Laura. I hope things start to improve for you soon, and that there is something they can do for your mom to help.

51477 Found the next MUST-read for our thread here, guys and gals!! I finished Before He Was Famous (HotFlush, #1) by Becky Wicks , and it was breathtaking! Beautifully poetic writing blended with a heart-wrenching but all-encompassing contemporary romance story, with characters that are so easy to love. Outstanding!!

51477 I finished Night Child (Night, #3) by Lisa Kessler and really wasn't impressed, unfortunately. Not sure what it was, but I just wasn't feeling this one.

Wrapping up Last Second Chance (Second Chance, #1) by Caisey Quinn and yet another crazy-hot alpha male from Casey Quinn!! Don't love it as much as I did Girl with Guitar (Kylie Ryans, #1) by Caisey Quinn series, but it is hard to match.

Next up for me will be The Crescendo (A Musical Interlude, #2) by KaSonndra Leigh , Dare to Resist (Wedding Dare, #0.5) by Laura Kaye and Before He Was Famous (HotFlush, #1) by Becky Wicks

Oh!! FIY frustrated the hell out of me too! After the bomb-dropping opening, it was like the book became something completely different with personality changes and all. Very strange, and it just didn't flow.

Sorry you didn't like it, hon. It does sound frustrating, I hate it when we're expected to feel something but aren't given the time to actually get there with the characters.

51477 Slow reading week last week, but I finished Teaching Willow Session Four by Paige James and wow what a finish! Loved this serial, it's crazy sexy and all kinds of torment.

Taking my time with Sweet Reckoning (The Sweet Trilogy, #3) by Wendy Higgins because I don't want it to be over *sniff*, and working through Night Child (Night, #3) by Lisa Kessler which is just okay so far.
