Yeah, that's true. I'm not fast at all. I do leave discussion topics for books up forever though and the book I was planning on us reading would not take long at all.

Yeah, I was thinking that, but I'm actually thinking of starting with the basics. There aren't many in this group who have read more than The Hobbit. Some have just watched the movie so I almost think we should start with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings before getting into the meat and lore and complicated stuff.
I did think about that though. Maybe I'll put up a poll.

Yeah, me too. I'll broadcast a message when we're gonna start. I want to start at the beginning of June and have the book picked out. Should I create a reading schedule or something?

With the Children of Hurin, he basically pulled all the versions of the story together and filled in the gaps. It's great! You should really read it.
Yeah, I don't know what of Tolkien's works I don't like. I need to read The Silmarillion again.

Yup. We'll have group read, discuss what we should discuss and it will be awesome (I hope).

Yup! I'm going to try to kinda improve this group this and next month and make it a true group.

Yeah, I like Aragorn. My least favorite part is Faramir as well. In the book, I think Tolkien was trying to make a point that some men weren't as corruptible and they didn't depict Faramir as that strong character like in the book.

Yeah, I like Beren and Luthien. The Children of Hurin is probably my most favorite story though, but it makes me sob like a baby or something.
Bogdana wrote: "Hey, I've read the Trilogy and Silmarillion and will start re-reading The Hobbit soon (to refresh my memory since the movie will be here soon yey!!!) and have recently acquired The Children of Huri..."Yeah, I should read it again before the movie comes out. I haven't read Lost Tales yet.

Hi Sophy! We just basically talk about Middle Earth, your favorite books about middle earth, etc.

This is a support group...

I don't think that's a problem Jessica. That's good for you.

Oh, haha. I'll read it anyway.

That's a lot of pages. I only had that kind of patients with The Count of Monte Cristo.

You've read it too then? You just said your friend read it so I wasn't sure.

At least you didn't give up. You're awesome just because of that, lol.
