50319 I like Glorfindel and I like Bombadil. Haven't we already talked about Bambadil? Or was that in a different group I'm thinking...?

50319 But the point of Faramir in the book was to show that not everyone would be deceived by it so they just ruined that in the movie. I actually didn't like how he and his men beat up Gollum either.

Yeah, Faramir was probably my favorite in the books too. I didn't mind him in The Return of the King when he was at Minas Tirith because he was like Faramir in the books at that point.

Yeah, that is a good idea! I might just sleep because time passes faster that way.

50319 The Children of Hurin is amazing! You need to read it.

I did not know he had an interpretation of Beowulf! I guess I should've known since he translated many of those tales, but wow! I'm gonna have to remember that!

50319 How about Smith of Wootton Major & Farmer Giles of Ham since they're usually together.
Jun 14, 2012 06:26PM

50319 Yeah, that is a good place to begin. Anyone else have suggestions?

50319 Alright, I decided that we should let you members nominate a few books and we'll cast a vote on what to read for a few months.

Also, any suggestions on how long we should read?

50319 What? I did see the Gandalf Galadriel thing but didn't hear about the Kili thing. SO not cool! It's like they have to throw stuff like that in there because it's "popular in movies!" The fans don't like it if it doesn't even fit!

Yeah! Overall I think the movie is gonna be awesome!

50319 Awesome! Is it the extended editions? They had those at Best Buy for awhile.

50319 Yeah, I agree. Martin Freeman looks like a good Bilbo.

I can't wait to see Laketown either. If it was in the trailer, I didn't notice it.

The second movie I think is gonna have some filler events between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings like The Wizards driving Sauron out of Dul Guldur and the Gollum Pursuit and stuff.

50319 Yes! I love the first two too, lol. Smith of Wootton Major wasn't as good as the rest of the stuff in my opinion.
May 23, 2012 08:58PM

50319 Yeah, they do follow the books really well. I really like Aragorn too.

Yeah, the last two Narnia movies are really going off the course... The first one did great, but after that, they're nothing like the books!

50319 Well, children are work. I think that's when my dad stopped reading them every year.
May 12, 2012 06:53AM

50319 Hm...
May 11, 2012 04:39PM

50319 Yeah! I wish we could make private quizzes.
May 11, 2012 01:06PM

50319 21st year! My dad did that for about 20 some years too I think. I meant to, but I didn't read them again until this year. I already read them this year, but I don't mind reading them again. :)

50319 No, you can! Everyone could pitch in their ideas!
