Shannie Pie’s comments from the Maximum Ride...ROCKS! group.

"What? You saying I stink?" He gave him a look before grinning.

Arachne finished washing Peace before wrapping her in one of the soft towels they had and draining the water, moving over to the clothes, rocking Peace in her hands. There seemed to be an outfit for both her and Peace.
She moved Peace to one arm to examine the clothing. Peace's were on top, as they were smaller. She unfolded the white shirt with one hand and stared at it. There was a small spider and snake on it, cartoon-style, playing together. She frowned a bit and opened the pants. They were gray and had red, brown and green stripes down the sides of the legs. It seemed as if the colors might clash, but they blended together perfectly.

Markos chuckled. "Nope! Might be a good idea.""

"Yeah, maybe I'll see if I can have one as well." Zarkt grinned.

Arachne was carefully washing Peace's hair when there was a knock on the door. She looked up, confused.
"Come in."
A little girl with the palest skin she had even seen--including herself--came in with a pile of clothes.
"Oh, set them over on the counter, would you?"
The girl didn't say anything, just doing as Arachne had asked and leaving the bathroom, closing the door behind her silently. Arachne bit her lip.

Zarkt snorted. "No, haven't had one for a while, that."

Arachne sighed and pulled the towel tighter around herself and flipped her wet hair over her shoulder. It had felt so good!
She bent over to tickle Peace and she splashed in the 3 inch water that was sitting in the tub. She laughed as well and started passing the soapy washcloth over her soft skin.

He gave him a little smile. "Yeah...well, everyone has their choice, I guess." He paused and looked around. "Hey, where's Mom?"

He shook his head. "No. I'm sorry about all of it. I really don't know what's been getting over me lately, but I didn't mean anything that I said to you."

Zarkt peeked out of his room and walked over to sit on the bed by Markos. "I'm sorry about what I said, Dad." He whispered.

Arachne found Suzie washing dishes in the kitchen and she hesitated before asking, "Is there a place I can take a bath here? I didn't see a bathroom connected to our bedroom..."
Suzie looked over at her with a smile as she dried her hands off. She looked at Peace and something entered her eyes that Arachne didn't like. She pulled Peace closer to her.
"Yes, there's several baths throughout the floor. If you look around, you should be able to find one. There's a lot of hot water here, so you shouldn't run out of it quickly."
"Thank you." Arachne said and backed up towards the door.
"Oh, and Natalie?" She asked and Arachne hesitated.
"What?"
"See me when you're done. I want to ask you something." Arachne could tell that this wasn't an offer, it was an order. She shuddered.
"I will be there."

"Yeah...Sorry, Markos." She looked up at the statue and shivered once before kissing him on the cheek and heading back to the dining area to see if Suzie was still there.

Arachne gripped a fist in his shirt before pushing away, holding Peace in one of her arms. "I'm sorry. I'm just too stressed. Maybe...I should see if I can take a bath or something around here." She wiped at her face and kept her eyes away from Markos.

"Let it run it's course?" A tear dripped down her face. "I don't know, Markos! It's just too sudden for me to have a little boy one day and a teenager that I don't even really know the next!" She sobbed.

"I don't know. I'd say that he's just acting like a rebellious teenager, but I really...I don't know."

Her eyes filled with tears and she closed them tight, leaning against Markos. "I am too, sweetheart. I am too."

Her eyes widened again and she kissed him. "What did he say? Did he hurt you?"

Perhaps that's true. But I'm almost an adult. And I have memories of what to do in situations I've personally never been in. I'll be fine. He turned the corner and went out of sight.
Arachne looked up at Markos. "What happened?"

He smiled a little. Why should you be worried? I can save myself if something bad happens. He started to walk away. "I'm heading to my room."

I trust you, yes, on some things. But with others, I want to go by what I know and what I feel. I don't have to obey your every word.

Trust. Such a short word that's supposed to mean something that can be so strong, but it's easily broken.

He looked away and back up at the statue. I don't remember her...ever complaining against you. I don't remember her asking why she should do something you ask her to do. She never goes against you.

Zarkt looked up to his eyes and he seemed curious. But isn't it a bad relationship if you don't have your own opinions? She doesn't question, doesn't ask why.

Arachne nodded and Zarkt stayed silent.
She's so...obeidiant to you. He thought silently. She trusts everything you do and say without thinking it might be wrong.
