@Nicolle: Aw, I can't help you with that. I have friends, outside school, and we meet once every month to discuss books at the same time to boost my social life at least tidbits of it. Hehe. Try to join some local book clubs.

Hi
Dana, welcome to the group and i'm glad you enjoyed books that only few did. We can't wait to discuss
The Hobbit and
To Kill a Mockinbird next month, stay tune and have fun reading! This is my latest and so far I fall in love to the book club, well, I joined a lot of local book clubs before and we still meet once a month to discuss books.
Hi
Mary, welcome to the group! You just found the perfect group for you, why not join our next month's books,
The Hobbit and
To Kill a Mockingbird. (Don't worry, I also joined a book club recently and every time we met we usually gossip and eat for a day. The bad thing is, they, you know, never mind. Haha.)
@Nicolle: Ay! It's okay. Haha.

Hi
Nicolle, I'll open a new thread the day before we read the books and I let you know.

Hi
Sameh, welcome to the group and I'm surpirse that you are from Egypt. I never met someone in Egypt before, interesting.
Hi
Alex, I read (not really) and discuss
The Iliad and The Odyssey when I was in high school and never enjoyed it. Maybe because I have the worst teacher that time and we don't have enough school supply (book) to be read individually. After you read
Dracula, try to look for a copy of
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. Good luck!
Hi
Mirka, welcome to the group! I love Alexandre Dumas' works but I only read 2 so far,
The Count of Monte Cristo and
The Three Musketeers.
@Sarah: Sure, I let you know and I might check that book out. I'm kind of slow in hunting books but I'll make sure to read that book soon. I never tried any Ukranian literature yet.
@Breanna: Okay! :)

Buddy reads with the following books:
-
The Lost World by Arthur Conan Doyle (Nicolle) on September 25
-
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson (Nicolle and Martha) on October 2
@Martha: I'm interested in reading Frankenstein in October and I also checked
Halloween in Wikipedia, if you are interested we can read it on October 31st for 24 hours. If you want to, if not, I'm fine with any date. Hehe. (Sorry, we don't celebrate Halloween here in the Philippines. Hikhik.)
@Desiree and Nicolle: O my, don't worry I usually don't have time for my social life. Kidding. I think I use most of my time reading books than going outside my room because my friends are not outgoing people not like my high school friends. Haha.
@Teri: I tried to read that book when I was 16 but I did not like it. Maybe I'll read that later in life again because one of my close friends here rated that 5 stars.

Hi, I'm joining the group read next month so that I can give the book I borrowed from my friend since last month. Haha. Have fun guys!

I already read
The Color Purple and it was one of my favorites this year. I have a friend who always suggest that book to anyone and I'm glad I loved it! Sweet reads. When exactly are we going to start
The lost World?

Hi
Kellie, welcome to the group! I don't have any idea where stoke-on-trent is. You can now kill me because I'm an idiot. Haha. Hiding.

Hi
Breanna, I just finished reading
Jane Eyre last weekend and I really like it. I can' wait to read your comments and review of that book. Enjoy reading!
Hi
Alan, welcome to the group and wishing you more books to come! Feel free to suggest any titles, I read few literary novels so far and only my local friends suggested them and I want to hear your suggestions anytime. Have fun!

Hi
Sarah, welcome to the group and I'm glad you read most of the books and exploring more by genres, not a picky reader ha. I also tried some local satire books and never enjoyed them much, well, I think I have to try foreign satire. Any suggestion? I'm hoping that you don't mean to kill a mockingbird. Haha. I have to read that part again and again and it made my day!

Sure
Martha, when are we going to start in October? I'm going to mark my reading calendar in advance and lets wait
Nicolle's reply.

Hi
Nicolle, I love your buddy reads idea. I'm interested in reading
The Lost World,
Treasure Island and
Wuthering Heights, let me know when are you going to start reading those books.
I'm planning, no, I mean I'm going to read
The Arabian Nights: Tales from a Thousand and One Nights this coming Monday until Friday after I finish reading
Madame Bovary. If anyone interested please feel free to comment. Have fun, everyone!

I'm planning to read at least 10 classics a month. I just finished reading
Jane Eyre by
Charlotte Brontë and currently reaiding
Madame Bovary by
Gustave Flaubert. Sweet reads everyone!
--> So far I enjoy reading
Madame Bovary and I can't put it down.

Thank you for the warm welcome guys and welcome to the group newbies (
Quinn,
Maggie and
Danielle)!

Hi guys, I'm Kwesi from Philippines and I'm new here. I read few YA books and I'm glad I found this group. A group of readers who are interested in reading literary and classics. I'll try my best to participate most of the discussions here and I'm planning to read the book of the month.
Sweet reads and good luck guys!
