4170 It isn't overly political. At least not in the 6 episodes I've seen.

A couple of light digs at FLOTUS (for her fashion designs) and a few politicians at a Congress hearing (AOC is parodied and a Republican makes comical anti-science comments)

It isn't even directly mocking the idea of a Space Force. It is mocked by the head of the Air force, but only because he's the antagonist to Steve Carell and wants space under the Air Force banner.

It could easily be a comedy about NASA and most of the material would still work.
4170 There is a pronunciation guide in the back of the book. (At least in the Kindle version)

X=ks (The same as in English)

Going by the guide, I would pronounce Teixcalaanli:

Takes-cah-laahn-lee

The double 'a' is the same as the single 'a' in father. It's just held for longer

But 75% audience score. The critics are wrong on this one.

But that's the best part. It's funny because it's true. You'll love it.

Even though they were parodying my favourite US politician, (AOC), I did like the $10,000 orange scene

4170 3 episodes in, and I'm really liking it.

TV Show 10/10
Movie 0/10

Also watch "The Legend of Korra". It is set about 70 years after A:TLA and as has a bit of a steam punk setting. It is really good too. Some of the original characters return. Much older of course.

4170 Nice to see Tom throw in a "Larry Sanders Show" reference at the start of the show.

"No flipping" ;-)

I've got a funny feeling some people aren't going to..... let that go ;-)

My Teixcalaani name is "Fourteen Mitre Saw"

4170 Just the 1. Magician
4170 This is the 4th of the 2020 Hugo Award finalists we will have read this year (3 Novels, 1 Novella)

It's a good chance we will have read a winner (or 2)

4170 I can delete the whole post. Not edit them.

I was giving the poster time to respond if they're genuine. It could be someone trying to help. It doesn't look like a typical 'cut and paste' normal spam post

I had checked the account out (The first thing I do for anything that looks suspicious) and everything throws up red flags.

If it's definite spam, mine and Rob's response is to slash and burn ;-)

4170 I wouldn't click on the link above.

I'm 50/50 on whether it's spam or not :-? or someone trying to be helpful.

I'm always suspicious of links in posts to products, from people who just joined up the same day.

That scroll was made of, well, more win than you can imagine. And I can imagine quite a lot.

None of it works without the fantastic text summary you created.

Mine, and Jan's (not to diminish Jan's great work) addition were just a bit of icing on an already delicious cake :-)

Cool. I didn't know that part of the title could be edited :-)

4170 It works as an intro to the second half. Good work :-)

Why not? Australia (inc. Tassie) has 2 mammals that reproduce by egg. (platypus & Echidna)

It's not hard to imagine it happening with a larger species on an alien planet. Prehistoric echidnas were once the size of a sheep.

4170 I struggled with how to count the co-authored books in my own stats.

I was going with the 1 stat for each book, which worked for "Leviathan Wakes" (American Male authored book) and "Good Omens" (UK Male Authored book)

"Time War" is different as we have both a male author from the US & a female author from Canada.

I had considered having half points, but that looked messy. So I went for 2 stats for that book.
