That was me on the Discord forum. "General Chat" thread

I check if anyone asks about the next month's book. Veronica occasionally adds the book pick early. Tom almost never does.

It does, but American culture dominates. Which for the most part is a good thing. Star Wars, Star Trek, Disney, Rock & Roll etc

4170 Pop culture exists to spread America to the world. Thank you America, I think :-?

Righty Tighty Lefty Loosey is OK until you come across left-handed threads. Then that rule is a lesson for disaster or a stripped thread ;-)

a very colourful time of year there. I'm jealous.

Most native trees here are Evergreens.

I feel the same way about summer. Also spring."

At least you have Autumn :-)
4170 2 of my sisters have joked that I wouldn't have even noticed there were restrictions on, because I'm such an introvert (and have got more so as I got older)

I am now reading more (and hitting the Xbone and Netflix), but mainly because I'm deep into winter and getting outside is harder.

They missed the most important state 🤔

The scariest book set in my state (Tasmania) is For the Term of His Natural Life by Marcus Clarke

It's scarier for being based on actual events in our history.
4170 Well there goes my Empire Strikes Back & The Shining movie night :-(

YES. I laughed. I gagged. I cried. I loved it."

It is an emotional ride. I loved it also.

4170 Episode 1 of Lovecraft Country was really great.

The supernatural horror comes late in the episode, but the real horror of racism happens throughout the whole show.

Very faithful to the book.

4170 I missed that. I looked back and in seems to have changed as of last Friday's giveaway :-?

I still haven't read the free ones I've got over the last month.

4170 I've listened to a few books on that service. I got the "Orphan Black" one when it was advertised on Sword and Laser. That was excellent with Tatiana Maslany narrating.

They do have a fair bit of free content on the site when you sign up and also give away a full book regularly. But you need to be fast they go within 10 to 15 minutes.

4170 I just saw the pic of Veronica in the Op Twitter link.

That's genius 😎 I can only assume the choice of background (Half Dome, Yosemite National Park) was deliberate for a baby bump pic.

4170 Congratulations 😎

Stanislaw(a) would have to be on the short list of names 😉

4170 Some game cut scenes are very cinematic.

I'd love Ubisoft Montreal to make full animated movies of the various Assassin's Creed timelines. They have done some shorts like "Embers" but I'd love a full series of them.

4170 I assumed Trike meant actual video of games being played with all the cut scenes.

"The Last of Us" which I want to play some day has had a movie made of it being played through.

4170 3 is the best. 2 is good.

For 1, A lot of people wouldn't read past the first line. Hitler can be a turn off for many, where the other 2 blurbs sound Kafkaesque and intriguing.

Back when MTV was worth watching and didn't degenerate into reality TV rubbish ;-) or worse like some channels :-?

4170 If you don't mind digital comics, then comixology.com have some great sales over the year. I put a lot of comics in my wish list then buy when they're on sale.

Even for ongoing series I love, I buy a month behind at the discounted price.
