Electro and Joey exchanged looks. "When we were at the arcade..." he began haltingly. "Some... a lot... of men busted in and were firing guns and... stuff. They got Jade, Mariola, and... and Saffy," he finished.
Joey looked up from the map that was appearing on his laptop screen. "It isn't as dire as Joe makes it out," he remarked. "They were tranquilizer guns, not ones with bullets. We saw them load the other girls into some van, and Joey got his phone in there, so now I can track it..." He pointed to the map.

Electro nodded to Joey, who went to the door and opened up a crack. He peered out, then opened it up all the way for Noel to come in. "What're you doing up?" Joey asked in a whisper.
Electro had finally loaded up everything he needed. "Joe, what's your cellphone number?"
"555-7875," Joey said, closing the door behind Noel and then sinking onto his bed.

"Finding Saffy and the others," Electro said absently. He loaded up a program and then opened up an internet browser.

"What do we do?" Joey asked.
Electro thought quickly. "You have a cell phone?"
"Um, yeah. What="
"Toss it into the back of the van before anyone notices!"
"Why-" "Just do it!"
Joey gulped and threw his cell phone into the van just moments before the men swung the doors shut. It was a good thing he had played baseball... before he started missing games.
"Okay. Let's get out of here," Electro said, turning and running away. Joey needed no second bidding, and together the two ran back into Edgeview.

Electro made for the door, ducking beneath the arcade games every time someone tried to shoot him. Some of the men were near or touching the line of games and Electro let his fingers touch the boxes as he ran. The games smoked and threw off arcs of electricity, and more than one man was caught by a shock. Electro smiled grimly.
Joey looked at the door, scared. There were several men guarding the only exit, and he didn't want to get caught by them. But wait! ((There's more!)) There was Electro, sprinting toward the exit from another direction. Joey couldn't let his best friend get hurt. With a deep breath, he ran straight at the men and plowed into them, shoulder-first. This had a sort of domino effect on the men, but Joey ended up sprawling on top of them in the tangle of arms and legs.
Electro was startled to see his friend appear out of nowhere in the mess of men who had suddenly fallen over, but quickly got over it. He pulled the sleeve of his jacket over one hand. As he leaped over the protesting tangle of men ("Hey!! He's getting away!"), he grabbed Joey by the hand and pulled him outside. Without pausing, the two dashed away around the corner of the arcade.

Joey let out an involuntary squeak as he saw the men, and trembling, he backed up the skee ball ramp. A few of the men blinked. "What the... he disappeared!"
Oh good. Joey bent down and picked up a few skee balls. The men didn't react, just moved cautiously forward. "No use hiding, kid. We'll find you!"
"I don't think so," Joey said, a small smile appearing on his face. He threw the skee balls hard and accurate, and, barely pausing, scooped up and threw a few more.
The men yelled as the balls sent them scattering. "They're coming from over there!" one shouted, and started firing widely at Joey.
"Crap," Joey muttered as he dodged the darts. He sprinted past the rest of the men - hoping his unnoticeability would hold - toward the exit. All this fighting... He shuddered involuntarily and ducked under a tangle of limbs.

Oh yea... and because I missed the fight scene [how could you do it without me?? :*( ] I'll just put in what the boys did now... *cue flashback*))
Electro and Joey turned quickly. Electro saw the men and gasped, then threw the skee ball he was holding at the nearest man. He ran for the electronic games lined up in the middle of the arcade. He had a hand on one of his gloves and was about to pull it off when something slammed into him.
Electro was spun around by the force ofthe blow and a furious goon pinned him up against a game by the throat. The man had a large, red lump on his forehead. "That really hurt, you little punk," he snarled, putting pressure on Electro's windpipe.
"Let... go..." Electro gasped, plucking uselessly at the man's hand. The man only grinned and brought up his gun with his free hand. "Say goodnight, kid..."
At the last moment Electro remembered to pull off a glove. He grasped the man's hand weakly. The force of the resulting electric shock sent his assailant staggering, and the shot went wide. Electro ducked as darts pinged off the metal arcade game. He turned and sprinted for another row of games, pulling off his other glove as he ran.

"Yeah, like that." Electro smiled at Mariola. "Good throw." He hefted the ball and tossed it. It barely made it into the hole labeled 20.

"Easy," Joey said. "You kinda... toss the ball up the ramp... and try to get it in the hole with the most points." He demonstrated and got the center ring. "Aah, thirty points. Good, but not as good as fifty."

"I will," Electro said, leaving the zombie apocalypse games.
Hesitantly, Joey followed. "Mind if I join you?" he asked quietly.

((The newer games are like a dollar, the old ones like Frogger are a quarter.))

for one thing, Edgeview is a Junior High, not a Middle School, meaning it's grades 7-9 not 6-8. And our characters should have gotten beaten up by bullies at least once by now...))
"Breaking in?" Joey muttered nervously. "I thought it'd be open..."
"Well you can hardly hang around outside, can you?" Electro chided him gently. "I mean, that'd look even more suspicious. Come on, let's go." They followed the others in.

((Hmmm... we could have an encounter with some Edgies, if you like...))
