From your focus books I can speak to three, The Moonstone, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, and Jamaica Inn are all good reading. I enjoyed them all. Your plan for a century of science fiction is a great idea. I have neglected my science fiction reading and have planned several for this year. I hope you have a wonderful year. Happy reading.

Shirley, you have a fantastic Old and New list. Paradise Lost and The Grapes of Wrath were five star reads and I hope to reread them someday. I read The Crystal Cave earlier this year it was my first by Mary Stewart, there will be more. I have read several more from your list, all were enjoyed. Have a good year.

You must be skin and bones after a year away from the buffet. I'm glad you are back. You have some good reading ahead.
The Razor's Edge is on my reread list, a favorite of mine. I remember
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo being a page turner, a really good mystery. Have a good year.

An excellent Old and New list, enjoy. I see you are interested in
The Winds of War. I started reading it a couple of days ago. I'm loving every page, a great start to my reading year. Happy reading.

You have some wonderful selections. I think you will really like
Lamb in His Bosom. Thank you for the encouragement about
Middlemarch, I'm looking forward to it. Have a good year.

I hoped that
The Last of the Mohicans would have won our recent poll, it might have been the nudge I needed. It's been on my shelf way too long. I agree with Lynn, Defoe and du Maurier are worth reading. Have a good year.

I see you are entering the buffet with an empty stomach and a positive attitude. You have some wonderful selections. I will always remember
Silas Marner, a real favorite. Your year 1969 has some winners too.
The Godfather, I've seen the movie at least a dozen times, the book is much book is much better. Take a look at
Sounder and
The House on the Strand. Have a great year.

I too, am using the 1930's for my decade challenge, our only overlap is 1939,
Pale Horse, Pale Rider. Enjoy your year.

You have some great choices. True Grit is a standout western I think you will really enjoy. Have a good year.

I have read a couple by Butler and I her to be interesting, a unique way of looking at things. On the Beach is on my reread list this year. I think you will like it. Have a good year

Have a good year. Enjoy your planning, good luck.

You have a great Old and New list. Some I've read, the rest are want to reads. Have fun!

You can never go wrong with Nevil Shute and Jack London. I'm also going to read
The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress this year. I've been neglecting my Si-Fi. Good luck.

Looks like you are set for a really good year, enjoy!

Wow! You have both A-Z challenges fully planned. I have only been successful once. Looks like you have a good year ahead. How about them dawgs.

I have
Les Misérables on my reread list. I have doubts about fitting it in this year. Have fun with the rest of your planning.

You have a great Old and New list.
Lamb in His Bosom is on my reread list. I hope you like it. I remember it fondly. I also have
Ulysses and
Sons and Lovers. Have a good year!

I see you have
Ulysses on your list. I have had a copy on my bookshelf for years and scared to death to ever pick it up. I have even considered getting rid of it. This is the year, I may not finish, but I am going to give a fair chance. Enjoy your year.

Dickens seems like a good way to start the year. You have selected some excellent choices.

I nominate
The Bridge of San Luis Ray by
Thornton Wilder, 131 pages, 1927. It has been tried in both New School and Short Story and has always come up short.
