So, when I started The Edge I read the first chapter and put it down. I didn't understand the world she was talking about kind of gave up on it. Then, I got pestered into reading Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series. The first book was rough because of all the world building, but each book in the series got progressively better. Now I'm a huge fan. So, I went back and gave The Edge a try. It was much easier to understand after having given the other stories a chance. It wasn't because the world's are the same, it's just because I had a hard time understanding what the concept of magic in the world for some reason. Outside of Harry Potter, I hadn't read anything in which there was a different, or hidden, realm. Once I got over the road blocks in my own head I enjoyed it. I like Kate Daniels better, but that's because it's more UF than PNR. I'm hoping, since it's Andrews habit, that Bayou Moon will be better than book 1. I'll let you know since I'm starting it today.

No problem. I just found it easier for me to have the colors in front of me. Although, most are the same colors with different names. At least, that's what it looks like.
There's a lot of ugly colors in a box of 48. I guess they're trying to add multiple options for skin tones, but I never draw people so I don't use apricot, peach, mahogany, tan... I tend to only use blues, greens and purples, but that's because they're my favorites.

So, I got my box of crayons and they're different form what the web site says. I'm going to change my colors to the box so it's easier for me. Starzee, don't worry, you can keep your colors the same.

I got both of our group read books today. I can't wait to get to them. I'm struggling to get into Follett because I keep seeing them out of the corner of my eye and I want to pick them up too.
"On the day King George V was crowned at Westminster Abbey in London, Billy Williams went down the pit in Aberowen, South Wales."

Haha. Angela just haven't read Night Huntress yet so we're trying to corupt her.
"She was dead."
"'Oh come on,' Tabitha said in an irritable voice. 'Don't tell me a Roman general is having trouble with penironi.'
'You don't honestly expect me to eat this?' he asked aghast.
She huffed at him. 'Don't you dare cop that superior attitude with me, buddy. I happen to know exactly how you Romans lived. How you decorated your houses. You come from the land of the phallus, so don't act so shocked that I gave you a bowl of them to eat. It's not like I have a flying phallus wind chime hanging in my house to ward off evil or something,...'"
"I don't give a damn if they throw me down into the deepest, slimiest pit for eternity."

Nice Lizz. They're all cute, but I really like Sam. I use to be dead set on having to have a big dog, but now that I'm paying to feed a Dane, I've changed my tune.
BTW, I'm 1/8 of the way done. Why'd I have to pick names with I's, O's and P's? =)

It's a state by state thing in the U.S. and some counties within each state even have different laws.
If I ever get a hedgehog I'm going to name it Pickles the Prickly Hedgehog. I don't know. I've just always wanted one named Pickles. Wow, I'm such a nerd.

I've always wanted a (descent-ed) skunk or a hedgehog. Domesticated skunks are like cats, but they make great guard dogs. People don't realize they're descent-ed so strangers tend to stay away from your home. It's funny to watch people freak out. Sadly, they're illegal here.
Hedgehogs are suppose to be one of the best pets for old people sine they're fairly low maintenance and live to be 3-5 years. That way you're not bringing in an animal that could outlive you by 10 years and that'd be forced on your family should you pass away.
..."a vampire, like a lady,
never reveals his true age."
"Uh, my lord, I am not actually food. You do realize this, yes?"

Don't worry. If you can you'll get to it. Once again, whip needed.
4) Do the Group Reads count for a challenge by themselves, or can we use them for challenges we're already in? I'm going to say that you can still use them for a challenge. That way, more people will be likely to read. Plus, in another group I run I don't allow them to cross over and I've had to become the book Nazi. Since this group is for fun and not running on points, I'd rather not to have to go crazy on anyone. =)
Ask Angela... She gets threats of whippings. ;) Although, that's because she hasn't read Night Huntress yet.

I need an idea for a V book.

Ya, but we can make it longer if you need it. There's only a few of us at the moment. The deal is just to read the first book you haven't. You can be anywhere in the series. I need to read Prey since I've read the first 3. You can read all of them if you get interested, but you don't have to read them all this month.

I'm going to pick two books for October since the month is almost here and I just decided to add a voluntary group read and there's no time to vote. I'll open up November for voting.
I'm picking the newest released books of a series(one comes out on Tuesday, the other Friday.) If you've read the series and want to read the new ones, feel free to participate. If you haven't started the series, or are somewhere in the middle, then just read the next book in line. If that makes sense...
If you guys want to participate, but need more time we can adjust to that as well. I went with PNR since a lot of you seem to like the genre, but we can do whatever we want for future months.
