37628 Haha. I was watching The Graham Norton Show the other day and Lily Allen was on. I didn't realize that she's the one that sang Smile. Anyway, she sang a song called Not Fair. I started busting up when she was talking about it. She wrote it about a guy she dated that was perfect in every way, except he sucked in bed. She said she played it for him, but he was too dense to realize she was talking about him.
She also has a song called F*** You. I think she's a new favorite for me. =)

37628 Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter, #9) (Were-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

"Angry that he'd allowed himself to be caught like this, he manifested a stake in his hand. 'You know the legend. Stab them in the heart and they'll die.' He handed her the stake.
Susan's eyes held a degree of fear as she wrapped her hand around the stake and offered him a brave smile. 'Call me Buffy. I'm even blond, but don't ask me to wear a halter top.'"

37628 Eat Prey Love (Love at Stake, #9) by Kerrelyn Sparks

"'...If he finds out that you're involved with a shape shifter--'
'I know,' Caitlyn muttered. 'He'll have kittens.'
Shanna snorted. 'No, Cait. You would have kittens. Carlos is a were-panther.'"

"'I'm not a violent person, okay?...'
'Stab him!'
'All right!' She grimaced and raised the stake above the dummy's chest. Still, she hesitated. The thought of actually plunging a sharp object into a body was so grotesque.
'He thinks you look fat in those shorts.'
'Asgh!' She stabbed him, then gasped and jerked her hand away. 'Oh my gosh.' She stepped back, staring at the embedded stake.
'Not violent, huh?' Carlos smirked.
She glared at him. 'Don't push me.'"

37628 I found a list in which people were polled on their favorite fantasy books. Although, a lot seem to be PNR. and I'm sure it was mostly teens voting on this because of how they've been rated. Despite the fact that it's not the most reliable list, I've decided to try and read every book in the top 100. I've read some of them already, but I know that some are books that I wouldn't normally pick up even though they're suppose to be good. This is the way I'm going to motivate myself. Feel free to participate.

37628 So many odd things. I think you'll like Andrews Stacia. I saw you read book 1 of Kate. They get better and this series is easier once you've trudge through Kate 1. Although, the hardest thing is not to read the exert for Kate 5 at the end. If I read it I'll be tortured, but knowing it's there is it's own torture.

37628 I'm liking Bayou Moon. It's much easier to get into it knowing a little bit about the world and what's going on. I like William a lot. Andrews is good at writing kick-butt girls and guys that are are willing to stand beside them as oppose to lock them up for their protection.
It's on that line between UF and PNR. It's got aspects of both.

37628 Hehe. Andrews site says she calls these "rustic fantasy" because it sounds better than "hillbilly romance." I think hillbilly romance describes them aptly, especially with a quote like:

"Yes, I'm too mad to punish you right now. We'll talk about it when we get home. Go brush your teeth, comb your hair, put on dry clothes, and get the guns. We're going to Wal-Mart."
