Glad the BOM worked so well for you. I'm still listening to it, just don't seem to have as much time for it as I'd like.

I think there will be a revolt from some members of the group (myself included) if we carry on with that series. It's stopped being entertaining in its failure to make sense and isn't a good erotica book on any level I can think of. The discussion made me laugh at least.

Our 1st of tasks for the mini, for those of you who aren't on the spreadsheet. We can use any books that are marked as free choice and finished after June 1st 9am UTC.

We've got some 400p books marked as free choice so for the more difficult tasks they will be fine to use, but I definitely wouldn't use a 500+ page book for them. Generally <400 page books I'd put into this mini first and not worry about the towers (at least to start with!).

10 Commandments - "No graven images" - Read a book with a text only cover (you can ignore publisher idents - pesky penguins!)
10 Awards - Read a book with more than 10,000 ratings that has never been nominated for an award
X-Rays - Read a book that gets under the skin of something (be creative - a psychological thriller, a non-fiction investigation)
Random 10 - Read a book with MPG Classics
X-Rated - Read a book with at least 10,000 ratings
X marks the spot - Read a book with the letters TREASURE in the title
X-Rays - Read a book with bone(s) on the cover
10 Things the Chipmunks Love - Vanilla! - Read a book with "vanilla" in the text
10 Commandments - "Don't steal" - Read a book with a theft
10 Commandments - "Honour your parents" - Read a book featuring a parent - child relationship (can be adult child too)

Hope you enjoyed it! I gave it a sufficiently glowing review that it was the table I got sat on at a friend's wedding last summer. All the tables were named after the couples favourite books and I'd recommended it to her.

The towers minis are something we've got a couple more months to work on.

The new mini will start on June 1st and will need more talking and organising to get done. I'll try to let you all know more about it over the next few days, but for now read the info and you can find the sheet in the official SS - I need to work on putting it into the tracker so that it works.

There's no rush on the books for the spell out. We've got until the end of July for those!

If you know you aren't going to finish a longer book on the SS this month, can you colour the page number column red so I know not to count it?

I always used to pick the longest books I could find in a book shop. Much less easy to do now my books are on kindle or the library app.

Suspect it means my average book length is around 400p now.

Steven makes a good point!

If everyone reads what they have on the SS by 31st May then we have enough of the longer books to make the tower. If you aren't going to manage them this month, then we can definitely use them for next month's towers (and the headstart with some long books would be fantastic), but we need to know so that other team members can hopefully pick up some longer books to fill in the gaps.

Towards the end of the week I might be asking people to pause/slow down their longer books so that they are finished in June to make next month easier.

Enjoying a relaxed day at home with my daughter today. Hoping that potty training will be a bit more successful than the last week has been - washing machine is on constantly to keep up!

Thanks! It's a practice thing and I definitely find some challenges easier to captain than others. UNO was one I found hard so I tend to just play.

What colour is the cover of the version you are reading? What the default on here is doesn't matter if you are reading a green one.

I agree with Steven. He's captained enough of these that he's normally a reliable interpreter of the rules!

Chunky is good! Don't worry too much about the colours, they might not be the best place for points as the challenge goes on.

Yes please! If you aren't happy putting your colour covers into a rainbow, please put RT into the mini code column and between us I'm sure we'll be able to juggle some rainbows into existance.

I've been doing a little bit of shuffling of our rainbow books to see how we are progressing!

We've got 2 books left on the 18 book rainbow and 4 on rainbow 2. If you look at how I've filled it in on the tracking sheet, the colours in A are decorative! What we want is a chain of books that could be described as a rainbow in E.

If anyone has some longer page numbers (especially 500-599) they'd be wonderful.
