@Kimber - Yes it works for MPG Time travel and I'll add your books in :)
@ Stacey - Yay! Our science MPG. Thanks Stacey

It says 22.9% brown, 19.7% grey (but looks light brown); 19.2% brown, 2.7% brown (but looks green). Then other colours.
So the browns equal 44.8% brown.
I kind of like the idea of using this book in jackonary with Death. Even Death can't resist pie

We're currently sitting at 15th on the leader board (2nd last) which I think it still a good effort. We're down 1 player and I know we all have had life impact our reading abilities therefore our book count is down. So, I think we're doing super. There's always players on other teams that just exceed our (and maybe their own) expectations.
At the moment we've read 273 books whilst two teams have read more than 370 books and quite a few have read more than 300 books. An easy way to increase our points is to get our BOMs up. So if you haven't already, have a look and see if you can participate in any of the BOMs. You typically have a month from the start date of the BOM to read it and answer DQ (unless it starts in July). We need a minimum of 3 answers to the discussion questions to be able to get the yummy, extra points
We're tracking well with all our tasks. An update is below of where we are at with them all.

Jackonary
I have put a few more books here. Please have a look and see if what I've written for your book matches up. If you want to change it for whatever reason (what I've said is incorrect or you can think of something better), please highlight it in a bright colour so I know to fix it :) Please also feel free to start adding any future books to Jackonary :)
I'd love to know all your thoughts on how you want or think the story should go. I'm not a natural story teller but I'm enjoying this so far!

You’ve got The House on the Cerulean Sea and I got The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
Not bad!"
Lisa also got DQs for the Backroom BOM! (..."
Thanks Stacey! I'll keep it in mind :)

Thanks Christina! I've added that book in and popped your other 3 books onto the spreadsheet. Once you've checked the dates, page numbers and what they can fit, let me know so I can add them to the main SS

I'm a bit torn on this one for the brown cover task. For me a brown cover is to have more than 50% of it in that colour but this looks like less than that.
What is everyone's opinion's on this?

Can you please add the date started and finished for this year for this edition? :)
It's on your TT shelf so you don't need to add it

But I've finally found some time now

Yes!

9 . What do you think on the creatures from the dungeon dimensions? Do you find them creepy?
- Definitely creepy
10. I enjoyed the Esk’s thoughts about being both witch and wizard and wanting to defend the one to the other. Do you sympathize with this view (more in general than in specific regards to magic fields)?
- Yes I do. I think it also reflects the title, Equality in the sense that wizards and witches are equal and both sexes have a right to be either. And Rites, in the sense that Equality should be a Rite in the society.
11. Why do you think Esk’s magic did not work?
- Not entierly sure. Her magic's been unconscious so far... She needs more training and guidance and she is still young!
12. Esk is supposed to be precocious but also nine years old. Do you think she acts in a way you could see a nine year old acting?
- I guess so? I can't remember how 9 year old are. But I always think children characters are older than they are in the book.
As a member of Team Ook, the bonus question is: Is not the librarian wonderful and would you want to be turned back in his place?
-
I do like him! But no, I would not

Starting with a Bonus question...
“They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it is not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.” (Granny said)
First off, who are “they”? I have always wanted to know. Secondly, do you agree with “them”?
- They tends to normally mean 'people' or a societies general knowledge and beliefs. I think generally, ignorance isn't good unless it prevents someone from being exposed to something traumatic that impacts their life. A little knowledge goes a long way.
5. Esk went ahead and did not follow Granny’s advice, and thought since she had a feeling she could get into the bird’s brain, then why not do it.
When you were a kid, did you jump off the swing, or touch the hot burner? If so, give us examples.
Do you think she learned something from it, or are we looking at shades of her future University life?
- I of course jumped off the swing as I was a gymnast. Touching the hot burner was not my interest. I touched flames from candles. I think she'll learn from it
6. What do you think of Hilda and her version of Headology? What do you think of Headology in general?
- I like it. It makes sense
7. Esk finds herself on a moving barge. Loved loved loved the resume of talents beyond washing and sweeping that Esk rattles off in an attempt to stay on the boat. What skills could you bring to the barge?
- Uhhh not much to be honest.
8. Speaking of the barge, what do you think of Esk’s decision to just leave Granny? Did she mean to leave on her own adventure, or was it an accident? Do you think her matter of fact attitude is a product of her magic, or just her personality or upbringing?
- An accident. Her magic may have also nudge her along with her independent attitude

1. If you are new or relatively new to Discworld, what do you think of Pratchett’s world and writing style so far? For more experienced Pratchett readers, what are your favorite things about his writing style or Discworld in general?
- I was actually surprised. I thought it was writing meant for middle grade readers to be corny. But it's actually the type of writing style that I like. So I'm pleasantly surprised.
2. So we have our plucky heroine Esk and her witchy mentor Granny Weatherwax. What do you think of our two main characters and their relationship with each other?
- I like them both. I love Eskarina's name. They seem great so far.
3. A major theme is witch magic vs. wizard magic (and women vs. men), and I can’t wait to learn more about these different magical theories and world views. What do you think of this dynamic, and which type of magic are you more drawn to?
- Kind of odd that Granny was set on males having wizard magic only but I liked that other characters just shrugged it off. No preference so far
4. Oh dear. Esk went a bit too far with the borrowing. What do you think is going to happen next? And what will Granny say or do?
- Definitely troublesome. I think she'll learn to master it though as long as Granny helps her
Bonus: I am really enjoying Pratchett’s wit so far. What is your favorite quote from this first bit? Mine is:
“What’s an elephant?”
“A kind of badger,” said Granny. She hadn’t maintained forest-credibility for forty years by ever admitting ignorance.
- Haha I love it so far. There's quite a few. Mostly Granny's though. How perplexed she is with babies and children and her conversation with the tree

And it's such a shame Sally that you couldn't see your mum. Hopefully you can soon though. I think it's happened to everyone - missing a milestone birthday because of COVID.
I think we're all a bit fatigued by all the lock downs, shut downs, rules and regulations for COVID. Which is okay. I mean, we haven't had to deal with anything to this scale before and it's something we all need to adapt too and be conscious of. I'm just curious at how the research compared states in countries to all countries in the reaction and adaption to COVID. I hope the governments will take note and better prepare themself for a future pandemic, with more responsive and conscious leaders. I'm hoping the roll-outs are quicker but probably won't

Great! It's a good thing there's so much analysis on this book on the internet

Not sure what task to use it for.
Needs to be added to ss.

I'll make it work for Bingo - black rooster ;)
