Nice! It's on my list. I read The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb which was worth reading, and then Run Rose Run by Dolly Parton I hadn't read many with music as a theme, but either there are more books being written with music in them, or I'm just figuring that out :)
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid got me started.

35559 Me too :) I am finding that I’ll do more housework if I listen on Audio too. Do you have any narrators you like in particular? Or any audiobooks that stand out? I thought Tom Hanks read The Dutch House really well, and the book “Nothing to See Here” also had an excellent narrator.

35559 I'm also considering putting a happy mask on my masked main character of Nevernight so I'm not afraid anymore....
But that's a little weird! Oh well!

35559 It's really warm here in Vermont. It doesn't get that warm here most of the time. I'm secretly hoping it will miraculously kill off all the black flies before they get bad, but I'm not sure it works that way.... I have just eaten a big piece of Mother's Day cake, and am thinking of walking about listening to my last book before TT starts, trying to get the courage to figure out where the tomatoes will go in the garden this year...
Any other gardeners out there?
Audiobook people?

Do you have a favorite nonfiction lately? I'm a big nonfiction fan too!

Yes please!
You can write it here, or on the spreadsheet.
My masked book just came today :) But I'm still kind of afraid of it. No one has anything for musical instrument or MC writer or tragedy that I can see. If you put the number you think it could fit in the column labeled "mini-code," it will plop right in the mini challenge slot on that page.

What one has a musical instrument? I'm interested :)

Well, I really haven't read many! I like historical romance - Beverly Jenkins and a book called Highland Treasure by Lynsay Sands and then I like Jude Devereaux. I haven't read any of the ones you mentioned, but I'll try to read one with this challenge!

35559 I was just going through our planning sheet. Never heard of a terpsichore before! I guess it's a muse that dances and sings?
Most of the photos have her falling out of her dresses! Those muses!

35559 Oooh. I was looking through my TBR list for a book with a mask on the cover and I found Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1) by Jay Kristoff
But I'm kinda scared to read it!!!

Yes! When you put your book in the planning sheet, pick a place that it will also fit for the mini. Put the number of the mini in column that says "mini code." Then, your book will automatically pop up in that mini category. It's helpful if you know of other ones it will count for too. You can add that in the next column that says "Also works for."

35559 No, I think that’s just if you want to write questions for the BOM. If you had been reading for the BOMs, you would be put in an extra time for their “randomizer” as to who gets to write the questions. It’s a lottery, as writing questions gets points :). You’ll still get points for reading, and for answering questions, and I think you can still put your name in for writing them.

I am looking forward to that book too.

35559 Hello Jasonites!
I'm Melissa (she/her) one of the co-captains - first time a co-captain! I think I did TT last year, and then Wheel and UNO - I like challenges because they really keep me reading.

I'm from Vermont, USA. I have a couple of grown daughters who are here for the summer :) I have a dog, and 2 cats, and a handful of fish. I'm a teacher by day, and a reader by night (and I watch Jeopardy :) Go Mattea!!)

I like reading a bunch of things - I usually have a nonfiction somewhere in the mix, and a young adult book (for my students) and then fantasy, historical fiction, science fiction, books from around the world, and most recently - thrillers. I'd like to read more of those.

I'm psyched to get started with our team!!
