Ha! I've been binge watching "Vikings" ..."
I watched all seasons last year, but I think I have to see the last one again before the show starts=)

Ha! I've been binge watching "Vikings" instead of readi..."
Haha=) I've been switching between Teen Wolf, Nashville and Supernatural while I've been knitting:P

Well, you certainly get tossed right into it. I'm often confused for quite a while when you start with action right away, without any prologue or similar. That said, it did set the tone for the book, but not the pace since it slowed down quite fast.
2. Why do you think the Gunslinger is chasing he man in black? Will he catch him? What will he do if / when he does?
I got a "wild west" feel very quickly and could imagine the Gunslinger chasing The man in black because of a crime he had comitted. The Gunslinger give off a cold/detached feel sometimes so I think he will kill him if he can.
3. What do you think of the world building or the world the story is set in? I find it interesting that there are so many differences and yet some similarities to our world, like the singing of “Hey Jude.” It feels a bit like our world has seeped into theirs.
I never got a good grip on the world they're in, it is more confusing than fun that some things overlap, while others are different...
Not really. As I said in previous question, I'm a bit confused about the world and so it's hard to say if he is a wizard/warlock/supernatural being/evil human/mercenary..he could be any of those:P
5. Why do you think the townsfolk were so anti-gunslinger? Was it just because of what he represents as a gunslinger, because he’s a stranger, or because of the man in black? Some other reason?
They might be skeptic to all strangers, it's hard to say. The man in black could have said or done something to make them more hostile towards the gunslinger.
6. What do you think of what happened in Tull? Was there another way for the gunslinger to leave the town without the destruction that occurred or do you think it was necessary or predestined? When Brown asked him if he felt bad about it, the gunslinger said, “Why would I feel bad?” Do you think that’s just because of his training or maybe he believed there was no other way or maybe he just lacks empathy for the death of others?
Killing an entire city seems a bit extreme, why not just flee? But maybe that is his way, get rid of the problem right away, no chance of it coming back and bite him in the ass? I think the Gunslinger feel justified in his actions, or at least that it was no way to avoid the outcome. The training have probably hardened him, you can't be soft with such a life.
7. What do you think of the story so far? Anything you particularly like or don’t like?
I'm not really feeling this story, it's hard to keep focused. It is my first Stephen King, but I've heard this series is quite different from the rest of his books.

I recommend Daugher of Smoke and Bone, I was pleasantly surprised by that series=)

Date: 12/6
Rating: 2 stars

The low rating isn't because the book was bad, but I personally didn't manage to connect with it. I listened to audio in my own language and that made it easy to zone out often. The narrator wasn't very impressive either. I would not have read this book if it wasn't a BOM this month, because it is not in my usual genre, but I have been curious about Stephen King's work for quite a while.

Sorry for the mass of books all at once. I've been reading a lot this week as I've not been feeling too great (I have ME and the heat causes it to flare up and knocks me on my but..."
Wow! I've been ill the last 4 days as well (just a virus infection in my throat and a cold, but it will not let go easily!), but I've barely been able to read 2-3 books. Impressive. And I hope the situation improves for you soon=)
