I want to try Murakami someday, but for this time of year I wanted something more spooky. Tales of Moonlight and Rain was perfect for that.

35559 I logged my book a while ago, but didn't check in with the thread. A great short story collection, I thought.

35559 I've started The Illustrated Book of Sacred Scriptures for the letter I. It's interesting so far. It's 175 pages, so I think I will be able to fit in a second book this week.

Ok! I'm hoping to get the Emily Wilson translation from the library, so I'll place a hold on it toward the end of December and then I can start in January.

35559 Does anyone want to do a buddy read for Metamorphoses or The Odyssey next year? I'm thinking January or February. I want to read both, but I'm not sure what to read first.

If I don't get a reply soon (next few weeks) I might ask in another group as it gets closer to the end of the year.

35559 Just checking in. I was gone for a few days at the beginning of the week and didn't have much internet.

I still want to participate -- I think I can finish a book before the deadline Saturday. to clarify, it just needs to start with one of the letters in skeleton, right? I don't think I can get a book with the word in title/on the cover by then.

35559 Hi! I'm Beth. I live in Oregon. This is my first Wheel challenge. The only other team challenge I've done is Around the World (ongoing), which is a bit less structured than this one. Actually I need to start on my book for the current stop, I have it checked out from the library but I'd like to have it finished before this challenge starts. My team is Literary Wanderers, and we're all reading a book from Japan, so I will be reading Tales of Moonlight and Rain.

I read mostly sf/fantasy and classics, and last month I started a blog. I'll be traveling Oct 19-31, so I hope it's not too much of a problem that I'll be gone for the first few days of the challenge. I might be able to check in anyway (I'll be busy but I should have wifi at some point) but if not I can check by Nov. 1st.

I'm looking forward to this! I want to find some possible books to read before the challenge, so I'll have a look at my library's collection and see if I can find a cover with a skeleton on it.
