35559 Hi. What does one do for the page count of a book that only has an audiobook? Thanks.

I am hoping plurals are allowed. In that case, I have added Ulysses to the spreadsheet and it contains both figs and vinegar. (Also many of the other food items all of which I have listed on the spreadsheet).
I will definitely be done with the book by the end of the round.

35559 Hi, for the food items in the mini challenge, do we need to add the phrase in the spreadsheet or is it enough to add the page numbers? Thanks.

Ouch, I feel your pain, both the tooth variety and that of the plumber.

By the way, have you ever tried cloves/clove oil for the toothache? But be careful if you are using clove oil, use a very tiny amount.

35559 By the way, am I the only person who had never heard of "The Women Roofers"?

In case anybody is interested in reading about them, I am adding links to the image from People magazine about them as well as an article from Carolina County's website.

35559 Please pray for my soul, people! After much perusing, I finally chose my first two books...
It by Stephen King
Ulysses by James Joyce

Both big books, from what many people have told me one is likely to scare me to death and the other is very likely to bore me to death. 🫣😜

That said, I was told the same things about The Shining and Mrs. Dalloway and I ended up giving both 5 stars so one never knows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

35559 Hi, all. My name is Preeti. I am from India and live in the southern part of the country. I have been looking forward to this challenge. It is nice to see so many familiar names and get to know more people.

I was so pleased to see the bonuses for older and longer books. I have a huge list of classics I have been meaning to get to and this seems to be the perfect place to do so.

My shelf is wheels-9-nbrc

Cat, so sorry to bother you but I just realised you said "per round" and a round seems to be 2 weeks. In that case, my number should be 6 per round. I thought it was the per week number we were supposed to enter. Thanks and sorry again for the trouble.

35559 Day 3 - Chapters 25 - 35

11. There has been a lot of talk about music, music being banned, the part of the myth regarding Enva’s harp and now Attie telling Iris about her father being a musician who taught her to play the violin. Do you think this has any special significance?

12. Iris has referred to Roman’s full name using a different word each time to replace his middle name, for eg., Roman Cheeky Kitt, Roman Churlish Kitt, Cantankerous, Conceited etc. She has also read all of his writings, public as well as some private ones so should have been able to identify his writing style. Were you also surprised by her not having been able to figure out Carver’s true identity for so long?

13. When Iris asks Lieutenant Lark why his platoon is called The Sycamore Platoon, he replies that it is a long story, one he will share with her “when the time’s right.” What did you think of the story that he told her and the situation in which he told it to her?

14. The second Roman asked for the synonyms, I knew that was going to be the way Iris figured out Carver’s identity. What is your opinion of how the uncloaking occurred? Also, what do you think about the way their relationship has been moving along?

15. Attie and Marisol have not had much “page” presence as I would have liked. And Forest has yet to make an appearance even though 3/4th of the book is almost finished. What do you think of the treatment of the secondary characteristics? Also, what is your opinion of the pacing of the book?

35559 I would like to volunteer for DQs.
