Hihi everybody!!I don't have much planned out yet as based on my past experience, my plans always fall through in the end :P
So I guess I'll just read whatever that makes sense at the time.
I'm trying to recover from a recent book slump by re-reading favorites. I'm on the Mercy Thompson series right now. From the speed I'm reading... the next book in the series might be my first book for the challenge.
Gonna start hunting for books from other countries in my TBR mountain.

1. I think there is an eagle in The Dark Tower.. I seem to remember the Gunslinger training as an eagle handler when he was young. Been years since I read it so I can't be sure...

Read 2 books from a new to you author and 1 book published this year.

2. Read every day.
Read several pages every day for a month (minimum of 10 pages or 15 minutes of audio). You can break up the task into 4 week-long segments if you prefer (doesn't have to be 4 consecutive weeks).

3. Read More Diverse Books/Books You Don’t Normally Read.
Read three books from genres you usually avoid (e.g. classics, memoir, sci-fi, YA, history, science, comic book, book set in another country or different culture).

7. Organize Your Bookshelves & Manage your ‘to be read’ pile.
Either read a book that you added to your TBR in the year you joined Goodreads or read a physical book that has been sitting on your bookshelf longer than that.
Reward: 1 Time Walking Potion.
8. Make More Reading Friends.
Buddy-read a book with one of your fellow adventurers. Use our local theatre for your buddy-read sessions.
Reward: 1 Major Heal Potion.
9. Stop Buying Books for a month.
Don't buy any books for at least a month and instead read a book that you got for free (might be from your library or borrowed from a friend).
Reward: 2 XP.
10. Pick up a number and stick with it.
Set yourself a reading goal that feels achievable yet still pushes you to find the time to read (minimum of 12 books per year) and stick to it. You can collect your reward for finishing this task no sooner than 1st December.
Reward: 1 Santa Coupon
Tasks 2, 6 and 10 are participation tasks (you can use the books you read for other quests).
Once you finish a task, report it in the Theatre thread and you can collect your reward.
If you finish all 10 tasks, you can collect your BONUS REWARD: additional 5 XP.

Salt is a wonderful mineral that can be used to enhance the culinary aspects of many dishes. There's a particularly grimy old spice trading man who's definitely worth his salt. Though you should take it with a grain of salt, his salt is especially fine and salty. He likes to taunt you that you're not a good enough chef for his salt and he really rubs salt in that wound. Prove to him that you're not below the salt and become the great chef you know you can be! Only to do that... you need some salt.
Read 4 books each with at least one of the following qualifications: (Find Items Potion works for this quest.)
• 50% or more white cover
• Title begins with S, A, L or T
• The word salt (exactly) appears in the book text
Receive 3 servings of salt for use in cooking.
2. Picking Herbs - Repeatable Quest
Herbs are another important aspect to cooking culinary cuisines. Herb Macklefinger is the local Herbsman. He traipses through the woods and selects the herbiest of the herbage to tempt herbivores to commit herbivory. He is willing to trade some of his herbs if the price is right.
Read 4 books each with at least one of the following qualifications: (Find Items Potion works for this quest.)
• 50% or more green cover
• Title begins with H, E, R, B (Indefinite article may be ignored)
• The word herb (exactly) appears in the book text
Receive 3 servings of herbs for use in cooking.

Cooking Log
1. Drop Bear Feast | Recipe
Lady Karen has stopped by from the neighboring village and the Queen would like to hold a special party for her birthday! She's asked you to help cook up some of Lady Karen's favorite things. Lady Karen is especially fond of grilled Drop Bear steaks. You eagerly agree to help in hopes that you can repeat the recipe later for your own gastronomical delight.
To cook a Drop Bear Steak: gather 1 drop bear meat, sprinkle with salt. Grill for 3 minutes per side. Garnish with 1 sprig of herbs.
(Requires: 1 Drop Bear meat, 1 Salt, 1 Sprig of Herbs and Kitchen)
Drop Bear Steak: Restores 7 hp. May only be eaten at rest.
2. When Two Become One - Repeatable
You stumble out of the Tavern late one night. On the side of the road a small boy is crying holding a dirty stuffed bear. You slur your words but manage to get out "Wazzz up boy? Nuh use cryin."
The boy sniffs and holds out his teddy bear with an arm ripped off. You decide that you can fix this particular problem. Rummaging around in your pocket, you find an egg that some lady handed you in the Tavern. Shrugging you smash the egg on the ground, grind up a goblin bone and spit in it. You smear the mixture on the bear and stick the arm back on. It instantly seals to the bear stronger than ever.
The boy gingerly takes the bear back and whispers "Thank you."
Mix: 1 Egg, 1 Goblin Bone and 1 Book with a main character whose first or last name starts with S.
Reward: 1 Book Glue. Glue 2 books together to make a bigger book with the combined total of pages.
3. Here Birdy Birdy (acquire Falcon)
Lady Sonia is in town to celebrate her birthday with Queen Skye. She brought along her beloved pet falcon named Beta Test. Beta left hunting this morning but never returned. Lady Sonia is beside herself with grief and asks for you to help return her falcon to her.
First you must track the falcon. You decide to follow the trail of mutilated, eaten mice. Spell out the word MOUSE using spell it out rules.
Then you must set a falcon trap. You need some netting and a lure. To make the netting read 3 books with a net on the cover or set at sea. To get the lure read a book about fishing or one with a rodent or bug on the cover.
Finally read a book with a bird on the cover to capture Lady Sonia's falcon.
Lady Sonia is so happy with the return of her falcon that she gifts you one of the falcons eyasses. Your baby falcon will return with 1 piece of mouse meat every week on Sunday.
To cook Mouse Meatballs: gather 1 mouse meat, grind, form into ball, sprinkle with salt. Bake 1 hour.
(Requires: 1 Mouse meat, 1 Salt and Kitchen)
Mouse Meatballs: Restores 3 hp. May only be eaten at rest.

The Kitchen That Cleans ItselfYour kitchen is nice, but nice isn't what it's cracked up to be. Your neighbor, Missus Birdy, has had her kitchen entirely redone. She can cook bread in half the time! Her mouse meatballs are just the right amount of crunchiness. She's even been selling leftovers to the tavern for all the drunks. You have a strong case of the green eyes of jealousy.
Remake your kitchen to be even better than Missus Birdy's. Requires kitchen.

• Install your new potion unit by reading a book with the letters POTION in the title but not the word potion.

Receive 5 XP and a new kitchen. Your new kitchen comes complete with a sink unit that drips health potion. Wait one week to harvest a Minor Heal Potion, two weeks to harvest a Heal Potion and three weeks to harvest a Greater Heal Potion. Potion gathering restarts after harvesting.
