Sorry I hope I'm not letting anyone down. I think I'm only going to get 5 in this week. The cruise was miserable I got food poisoning on the first night and it went downhill from there. If it hadn't been for the friends I was with I think I would have jumped overboard lol Plus, I got Devil in the Grove: Thurgood Marshall, the Groveland Boys, and the Dawn of a New America from the library in the mail while I was gone so I had to read that first thing because it's not renewable. It was a very detailed, information packed book, very sloooow reading. I'm so glad I read it but I'm also extremely glad to be finished with it! I'll post what I have so far.

(I'm hoping to complete this book before I leave in the morning, either way I will either delete it or post it completed.)
We have two weeks of candy corn right? We don’t get a new word until the end of next week on the 9th or 10th?
Hello Everyone, I'm going to start with Hitting the Books for "N". There's a character named Lindsey Norris. I'm probably just going to keep checking the spreadsheet for what we need as far as what I'm going to read next. Looks like we are in very good shape! Does anyone know when the new word comes out? I leave on Thursday and I want to plan my reading accordingly for during my trip since I won't be able to check in.
Alysa, no theme on the cruise other than having fun. I would like to do a themed cruise though. That would really interesting seeing all the costumes. I bet some would be really elaborate.

Do you have a favorite book or author that you like to read around Halloween?

I so want to read this series. I wish it were on KU as well. I guess I'll have to get it from the library.

1. Ilona Andrews
2. J. R. R. Tolkien
3. Patricia Briggs
4. Ben Aaronovitch
5. Anne Bishop"
So many to choose from! I think my favorites change all the time since I'm a pretty eclectic reader. I've been reading some true crime lately that I found on KU. Pretty gruesome stuff. I recommend both books.
Little Slaughterhouse on the Prairie
Low on the gore scale but pretty cool that the Ingalls family possibly but more than likely not lived close to serial killers.
Hell's Princess: The Mystery of Belle Gunness, Butcher of Men
Little more detailed as far as how the murders were committed. This book is probably 30% on her and the rest is on the trial and different theories of her whereabouts.
Now I'm reading a vampire book. Like I said I'm all over the place.

Neat article! Candy corn does not last long in my house either, especially the little pumpkins in the mixed bags. ..."
I sometimes eat it starting at the white end and sometimes at the yellow end all depends on my mood. I don't like the pumpkin ones though they are weird. I am also very specific on the brands I'll eat. No cheapy candy corn for me!

Hi Alysa,
I cannot wait to go! There are a total of 23 of us going. I went last year and there were 19 of us. It was so much fun! The only rule is that you have to show up for the "dress up" dinner on the last night other than that your time is your own to do whatever you'd like. I plan on doing A LOT of reading ;-D

Hello Everyone! I'm so excited for this to start! I know a couple of you from other challenges. This is my third challenge I'm really getting addicted to them. I did the Harry Potter Tower Team this summer and I felt lost after it ended. It was so much fun!
I am a workaholic. I generally work about 14 hrs a day Saturday-Wednesday BUT I also somehow manage to read at least 2-4 books a week. I have one indoor fur baby Ciara the cat. She definitely rules the household. Ciara has 3 outdoor friends (cats), that she has me feed-Gwendolyn, Charlotte and Charlie. All three are boys but I only just found this out because even though they are not feral you cannot get very close to them. I can't change their names at this point because they actually respond when I call them hahaha!
I will read most anything but I prefer not to read most sci-fi, dystopian and post-apocalyptic. I just got a 90 day trial for Kindle Unlimited and I'm loving it. They have some really crazy books on there. Some good, some bad and some just flat-out horrendous but it's all good fun.
I look forward to the good times with all of you. I think this is going to be a really fun challenge.
I'll be on a cruise from 1 Nov-5-Nov but I will plan appropriately to be able to complete my books for that week.
Hard to believe it’s only been a week since the challenge ended. I miss the fun times we had together. We did outrageously well for being such a small team. What a bunch of super readers we all are! I wish everyone well and I hope to be on another team with each of you another time. Happy Reading!
