35559 Well done, Keli! I love murderbot - I think that is my book alter-ego.

I finished my first book of the challenge too: Cosmos. It was written in the 80s and I enjoyed thinking about what has happened since then, but mostly just thinking about the immensity of the universe.

35559 It is a fun, very low stress challenge. Pretty much any book you read fits somewhere.

35559 This has been an eye-opening challenge for me - I realized that the number of books published in the current year vastly outweighs the number on my TBR from years ago - yikes! Although I have to blame Netgalley for some of that.

But...
1. I finished The Camel Club series (on my list since 2012)
2. Read 15 books from 2015. A standout for me was The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - I was very surprised to like it so much.
3. Ironically finished "The Finishing School series" from my 2016 list
4. FINALLY read The Pillars of the Earth, A Memory Called Empire and Super Powereds: Year 1 - some long tomes that have been on my list froever.

I am definitely going to try again next year.
35559 I am almost done (resumed with Part 2 in late November) and thought I would check in here. My feelings have been well expressed by Karen - the writing is so good, but I'm so frustrated with the bad guys and I just want them to be dead. And I got very tired with the war.

I hope to finish this today - we'll see.

35559 I want to keep trying to read some of the oldest books on my TBR. I'll go with 50 this time as I need to also catch up on Netgalley and I'm not reading as much.. Any books I've had on there from 2012 to 2019 will count.

52/50

35559 I think we did as well as we possibly could. Im proud of us! Thank so much for all the work!!!!
Nov 30, 2022 09:29AM

35559 we don't get points (just satisfaction) from those anyway. and I have to say I LOVED your descriptions!
Nov 29, 2022 05:08PM

35559 thanks Rebecca! you've put in so much work this challenge!!
Nov 29, 2022 10:39AM

35559 oh Lynne I'm so sorry you are sick. I hope you recover quickly!

And oops! I'll do Alias Emma right now.

35559 I think I am done with what I can finish this month. I am sure sorry I am not home on my computer to help with transferring things!
Nov 28, 2022 10:59AM

35559 Thanks Rebecca for the reminder!
Nov 23, 2022 10:36AM

35559 I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
Nov 23, 2022 08:04AM

35559 I have two completed books to make meals for, and I linked in the books I'll have finished by the end of the month - just doing things ahead of time that are hard to do on a phone or tablet :)
Nov 19, 2022 07:08AM

35559 I listened to a book that is audio only (asked about this in the questions area). I THINK it may need to be unverified pages, but since it was a bit over 7 hours I wanted to ask just in case - then I'll get it put in.

I swear most of the books I need/want to read this month are in the 400 -500 page range - the worst efficiency range for this challenge.
Nov 18, 2022 06:40PM

35559 If a book is audio-only (7 hours and 18 minutes) what page count do I use? Is it the minimum number?

Sorry if this has been answered already - I searched all these pages for "audio" and didn't find it.
Nov 14, 2022 11:29AM

35559 I think they were fine!

I hope you had a great weekend too. Boy time just speeds by. I finished The Green Mile and need to put it in - maybe today! It was on audio, and I don't remember really hearing any bonus romantic items. But people did eat :)
Nov 09, 2022 06:19AM

35559 I entered my first two books. Since they were long, I focused on drinks and desserts - it seems as if getting lots of meals might help since we have been having more customers than meals. However, if you both would like me to switch to some other things, I'd be happy to!

I didn't put in any romance bonus items yet, but seems (hopefully) like we can get those. I did have two chocolate things. I am not sure how gold will work as a food, but I suppose it doesn't really matter since there's no rulel saying we need all three words.

35559 I think the holidays and all the associated things make it easy to lose some reading steam :)

And yeah it'll be fun - at least mostly. My oldest kids need me to babysit the grandson the 25th through December 5th. Other than missing husband, dog, and computer, it'll be fun :). And the husband reminded me I'll have lots of time to read, so that's good.

35559 I just learned that I need to be in Seattle from Nov. 25th on, so I will also not be much help in transferring things to the primary spreadsheet. I can enter into spreadsheets though. Maybe before the last week of November we can put things into the main spreadsheet then just enter into the primary one instead of moving across? I can MAYBE copy/paste using my tablet or phone, but gulp.

And...I finally finished a book. Sigh. My reading is really taking a hit for some reason. Well, and it was a long book, but still... I'll get things input soon.
