I may kick it off early too - but i have a bunch of library Star Wars books to listen to first :)
Keli - I would call it bright blue but...it could really go either way. And yes! Just pick an unclaimed rainbow number for your color covers. I'll fill it in when I check the cover, which helps me know what I've checked :)

I just read a 500-599 book and logged it on the spreadsheet......"Awesome - yes we do need it - thanks Cris!
We don't get any more crayola towers, but that's ok - finishing that mini-challenge is a good problem to have. And one nice thing about books we finish in June, is, say we finish one on June 10th, and log it. Then on June 25th we get a Chipmunk prompt that book fits. We can use it for that prompt! So that's cool. Also, just fyi, once a book is used as a Chipmunk task, it can't be changed to a different task. That's more a captains job though :)

I think they are being extra careful because it's so contagious. I've never had it - thank goodness!
You can start reading 11.22.63 anytime - in fact if you finish it before the buddy read that's ok - just be sure to answer questions.
The participation tokens (3) give an extra entry into the daily questions lottery. So not a huge deal, but that's the only way they contribute to TTX - that extra chance. Answering questions DOES help TTX - it gives the extra 20 points.

Sounds good Nanci! I cannot believe June 1 is so soon!
I just learned my grandson's school in Seattle is closed for 10 days or so (switching to online) because someone had measles. Yikes. Lol he called us at 6:30 in the morning giving us a long list of measles facts. Gotta love grandkids :)

Yeah it does have to be over 50%. But even if it doesn't fit for a mini, page points always fit!

Shannon sorry you hated that book! Darn! Vi - I sure hope your book gets better.

Leslie I haven't finished the Ferryman yet but I'm enjoying it, and intrigued! Thanks so much for the recommendation!

I hope you recover quickly Shannon! My biggest memory of when I got mine out was my husband getting into my candy stash and eating my chocolate in front of me (just to tease me). He did replace my candy - lucky for him.

I did a mid-week update of the spreadsheet - which was easy thanks to wonderful co-captains who are SO on top of checking that books are on shelves. We are still the team to beat :)
Big shout out to all of the BOM readers. We have 320 points from those books!
We also now only need 4 more books in the 500=599 page range and I know we have some in progress.
Thanks so much for the great reading and teamwork. And especially for all of the positive comments and help you give to each other!

Jen - end of the school year is busy for sure. I hope all goes as smoothly as possible - that is a lot of work.

We get no points at all if we don't make the page ranges. So we will be careful :)

I'm so sorry because I think I'm not phrasing things at all well. But we get the same points for your books whether or not they are in the page range part or the free choice part. So reading them for chipmunks is great! We do still need to cover the page ranges for June too (with non-chipmunk books) but given how our May reading has gone, I don't think we should worry. Maybe if we are super low on a set of page ranges at end of June we can not count books in that range for Chipmunk.
Does that make sense?

Longer books are fine for chipmunks! The page points count the same either way :) We will just have to read other longer books to cover the book tower - and I don't think that will be a problem.

Oh another important thing to note: If a book is used for a Chipmunk task it must be used as "free choice" and won't count towards our June requirements for page ranges.

Oh we don't have to read them 1 then 2 then 3, etc. If task 7 is finished first, then great! We will put it in and get a task 11 to go with tasks1-6 and 8-10. Hope that helps.
Vi I read the "in order to see" the same way at first. Then I realized she meant "so we can see".

We will have to move it to the main spreadsheet (only the captains can do that part) and will get the main task. So I know we will try to carefully watch so we all can see what's new as soon as possible.

I think the randomness is great - we'll never know what task will be coming up next. That should be fun :)

Tone - I'm so glad the trip was wonderful. It sounds so very neat!! What a unique experience.
