Yeah, not sure how Harmon does it, but she sucks me in to the story very easily and makes me care what happens to the characters.

I listened to the audio so did not know how they spelled the Queen’s name. That is a pretty name!

I had one of those nights, not much sleep. So I was able to finish the book. So exciting in some parts! Loved the scenes with the Volgar. Harmon knows how to write those. And yes, the romance was heartbreaking at times. I liked how their romance developed too.

(view spoiler)[I couldn’t believe how many people Kjell had to save in this book! Bringing the people back who were stuck being trees, that had to take a toll on him and years off his life! But I found that a fascinating storyline.

Some of the book felt predictable because I knew the King had to either die or be gotten rid of in order for our hero and heroine to be together.

My only complaint is how Kjell reacted after the King returned to being a tree. He was like a petulant child wailing about how he needed Sasha by his side. When she was clearly grieving. Even though she did not love the King like she loved Kjell, she clearly cared for him. The King was good to her. Anyhow, enough of a rant! LOL (hide spoiler)]

I will read another by this author. This was a sweet romance. A little predictable. But I did sigh a few times and got my HEA.

I agree the Thunderhead is evolving. I guess it has to since its main purpose is the betterment of humanity. Humans are just too complicated for one solution to work.

Finished part 2, through chapter 14. (view spoiler)[ I think Citra was the target of the thwarted attack. Her new ways have to be a threat.

I find Grayson interesting. And how the Thunderhead has created an undercover agent to work for him.

So glad Faraday is back! He is a welcome voice of reason. I like how he reminded Rowan that there are always 2 sides to every story. But I don’t think Renoir loving and then losing that love was a good enough reason to allow him to continue his secret ethnic cleansing agenda.

What do they want Tyger to do? What is he in training for? I am sure it won’t be something good! (hide spoiler)]

I agree it’s good to get a new perspective. Regarding Rowan (view spoiler)[ I find it really interesting that Thunderhead does not interfere with Lucifer. I don’t really think it is because Rowan is a scythe. I think it’s more about regulating a group that was allowed to become corrupt. Really interesting beginning! (hide spoiler)]

I just started this book a few days ago. I’ll definitely join in the buddy read. So far I have read part 1, through chapter 7.

Read through chapter 13. This is an exciting and surprising story! (view spoiler)[ Well, I did guess right about Sorsha being a Queen. But I was surprised that she was Queen by marriage and the King may or may not be alive. Kjell is such a hero, going with her to her land and protect her. [sigh] (hide spoiler)]
