Since we used it already, you don't have to bother putting all the info on the book thread. Saved you some time. :D

-- Read a book with a truck on the cover.
AL -- Read a book with a adverb in the title.
AL -- Read a book with no images/objects on the cover.
-- Read a book with a perfect square number of pages.
-- Read a book with a muscular built man on the cover.

Shockingly enough people thought

Used Ariane's

NEW GOAL -- Read a book with a muscular built man on the cover.
Guess we already used all the half naked men on motorcycles in our crossword. ;)

I've got a blank cover book for home reading and the adverb book for work reading. Hope to finish one of them by tomorrow. And now I am going to read in bed because it is freezing here.

Goodnight team!

SARAH-JANE -- Read a book that your co-captain or captain has read which is on your "to read" shelf (go to the person's profile -->compare books).
-- Read a book with a truck on the cover.
-- Read a book with a adverb in the title.
-- Read a book that has the birthstone Topaz in the text or title.
-- Read a book where a character is an angel.

That's awesome Kari, apparently the audio version is narrated by Martin Freeman who I consider a famous enough actor. If I've heard of him he must be famous because I live under a rock. :D

NEW GOAL -- Read a book where the audio version is narrated by a famous actor.
I'll go update your book Donna, thanks!
NEW GOAL -- Read a book that has the birthstone Topaz in the text or title.

I should finish

Chapters 12 – 16
Q13. Vianne helped make the list of teachers which took Rachel and other Jewish teachers. She went to Captain Beck about the list, which she thought the names were meant to be “clerical in nature”. She also saw all the food and items the Nazi’s had. What are your thoughts about this scene? Was she naïve? Do you think she is starting to understand there severity of the situation? Is she seeing more of what Isabelle is talking about?
She is naive and just a bit stupid, I'm not even remotely surprised she did such a thing. Though I would never expect her to have the balls to stand up to the Nazis, so her actions are completely normal for her. She was being tested - perhaps she passed the test and now Captain Beck will expect co-operation.
Q14. Isabelle has been distributing tracts for months and she stole the bicycle. Is her behavior being more reckless? Do you think she will be caught for these kinds of behavior? Will she be caught with this new mission in Paris delivering secret messages for the Free French?
Maybe now she will grow up a bit. In reality she would probably be stupid, get caught immediately and die, but this is a novel so I suspect she will be a brilliant free agent.
Q15. Do you like the timeline changes (In France, then in Oregon)?
Doesn't bother me, they are supposed to be little hints to who the Oregon women is I suppose.
Q16. Now with Isabelle in Paris, Captain Beck is alone with Vianne and Sophie. What do you think will happen with Vianne and Sophie?
Romance between Beck and Vianne - horrible, annoying, make me want to throw the book romance.
Q17. Should Isabelle reopen the bookshop?
Why not.
Q18. Which character do you like more, Isabelle or Vianne? Which of the two sisters do you feel the saddest for?
Karen wrote: "I honestly don't care for either of them. Isabelle is selfish, immature and acting like war is a game. Vianne is just insipid and uninspiring."
Amen sister!

Chapters 8-11
8. Have you read much about the occupation of France? Has any of the historical information (such as German officers billeting in houses) surprised you?
I have read quite a bit of WWII history and historical fiction. I enjoy it very much, almost as much as I hate WWII romances (which I suspect this is going to be). The info wasn't surprising and I wish there was more of it and less of the oh-so-not-interesting to me Rossignol sisters.
9.I was so annoyed with Isabelle in this section for being so naive and immature that I almost stopped reading the book. As a parent, I became so angry on Vianne's behalf about Isabelle continually putting Sophie at risk. What are your thoughts on Isabelle? Is her hurt and resentment towards Vianne justified? Is she doing the right thing helping the resistance?
I'm not a parent but I still thought Isabelle was stupid and childish. If you can't grow up in war, when will you grow up?
10. Captain Beck has, so far, tried to be very accommodating and polite. Was he just trying to win their trust to be able to use Vianne? Or is he just a decent man dragged into a war with no choices?
I'm sure he will be a decent man, otherwise what fun will the forbidden romance be? That was sarcasm by the way.
11. Captain Beck does some research and says the men have been captured and are "not coming home". Do you believe him?
I believe they may have been captured but I also believe he would say it no matter what to break down the women's faith.
12. Some of the women started to turn on Vianne, insinuating that she may be 'in bed' with the Germans. Do you think this was fair?
Alls fair in love and war. Hee hee, couldn't resist. Not fair but expected and predictable.

SARAH-JANE -- Read a book that your co-captain or captain has read which is on your "to read" shelf (go to the person's profile -->compare books).
-- Read a book with a truck on the cover.
-- Read a book with a sad good-bye scene or angsty fight.
AL -- Read a book that has a predominately scarlet and gold cover.
-- Read a book with a adverb in the title.
