35559 ah, i could probably read something else instead for awhile. do you know when you're going to have another copy?
35559 only read chapters 7 and 8 today. not really a lot to say except i hope this picks up somehow soon. i guess we will finally get some suspense when diana (view spoiler) at least
35559 i read chapters 4-6 today. still feel like we're moving along at a snail's pace and they spend 10 times longer talking things around in circles than actually DOING anything.

also i cannot BELIEVE that i am going to have to sit here and read about (view spoiler) flames on my face lol
35559 ok, i've got a lot going on now trying to finish preliminary books for triwizard anyway. just let me know later on when you're ready
35559 anyone still planning on reading this?
35559 read the friday section today. not really much to say about this section as it's pretty short. i think we've been introduced to almost all the characters at this point so that's good [like i said, it's just everyone is awful at their jobs: the book lol]. excited for the next section since that's where things really start heating up!

35559 Madhouse (Cal Leandros, #3) by Rob Thurman

Madhouse by Rob Thurman
8/8/18
337 pages

characters are cal and niko leandros, robin goodfellow, promise nottinger, sawney beane, wahanket, ishiah, delilah, georgina, and serglio so letters are B C D G I L M N P R S T and W

book 2 task 2 - deadly weapon on cover [gun]
book 3 task 2 - shapeshifter character [delilah is a werewolf]
book 5 task 4 - someone dies [sawney and serglio and other unnamed people die]
book 5 task 5 - seer character [georgina is a seer]
book 7 task 2 - cal and niko are brothers and it is also the 3rd book in the series so works for two parts of this task
book 7 task 5 - multiple deaths [sawney and serglio and other unnamed people die]
35559 ok i'm reading the wednesday and thursday sections today, you're definitely gonna finish before me lol

i think the "Most books on witchcraft will tell you that witches work naked. This is because most books on witchcraft are written by men." part might actually be my favorite thing in this whole book. although just in this section alone i am also very partial to 'oh Lord, heal this bike' lmao

i'm not quite to the part where the book plays a huge part yet but i'm sure it'll be interesting since i'm reading this with word runner this time lol hopefully the fact that i've read it before will make it easier.
35559 ok i read chapters 1-3. i agree it's a very slow start, although i did kind of appreciate the recap because i had forgotten some stuff [also i literally still sometimes forget which girl is which but i feel like that's more my own damn fault lol].

i agree that not a lot has happened and honestly i feel like only half of anything that is said/written needs to be there. i am already at the point where i'm annoyed by the interjections from everyone so that's not a good sign either ...i don't understand why she didn't just do different povs instead, it would be a LOT less jarring.

on the plus side i did manage to read it pretty quickly so i guess at least my reading speed has improved and hopefully the 700 pages won't feel like so much.
35559 yeah i feel like she is definitely too hard on herself but like you said that is something that makes her more relatable because we're all guilty of doing that at one point or another. also she has to start somewhere so there will be room for her to grow as a person, it would be pretty boring to me if she was just perfect from the start lol

35559 The Cursebreaker Countess by Sasha L. Miller

The Cursebreaker Countess by Sasha L. Miller
8/7/18
106 pages

characters are kas, anika, isabelle, bianka, baldur, emma, and jochen so letters are A B C E I J K M and S

sorry i cannot find a single task that this fit :(
35559 i promise i am gonna start this today lol. i read it ...i can't remember if it was late last year or early this year so maybe i'll appreciate the info dump idk. i also am so worried about the length though because i didn't even feel like the last one had enough content to justify the length and this one is over twice as long lol
35559 god i had forgotten how hilarious this book was

agree that the thing with the antichrist is mildly ridiculous but also this is basically 'everyone is AWFUL at their jobs: the book' lol like it's incredible

love crowley and aziraphale so much. i agree that they are the last people i would put on a high profile job though lol

don't want to say too much about anything else because i don't want to spoil things for you but i'm excited!

35559 Another one for the maze:

Nyssa Glass and the House of Mirrors by H.L. Burke
Read: 8/6/18
Pages: 168
MPG: Steampunk
Title: N-Z
Direction: West
35559 i think it should be fine with TT because this series can definitely fit into the challenge both as a spell-it-out with character names and also some of the tri-wizard tasks as well.

also SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT

yeah i did remember it was gordan after it was revealed that elliot was engaged to yuki [i knew it was one of them but couldn't remember for awhile] but i had totally forgotten that april was involved at all.

as for why she didn't want to help with jan yeah i think it was because she kind of realized in the back of her mind that if people were not coming back immediately then they might not come back at all and she didn't want to take the risk with jan. although it's kind of hard to figure out what she's thinking a lot of the time bc her experience is so different than usual.

i really like this one too, although i know a lot of people don't and i even saw the author say on tumblr yesterday that she thinks it's her weakest book in the series, but i really enjoy how it's more of like a 'classic' mystery but with all the fae elements added.

35559 Tales of the Gryphon Clerks by Mike Reeves-McMillan

Tales of the Gryphon Clerks by Mike Reeves-McMillan
8/6/18
118 pages

well it's an anthology and there are about a million characters and they all have like ...names of things instead of real names but some that i remember are: victory, patience, realmgold, berry, constant, spinner, manta ...eh, that's probably enough. so letters would be B C M R S and T although i guess if we've got leftover letters at the end i could try to look up some more names

book 1 task 1: 5 word title
book 1 task 4: predominantly green cover
book 3 task 4: woods on the cover
35559 ok cool, i might not be able to start it until tomorrow now but i might try to squeeze in a few chapters later today
Team Draco Malfoy (1143 new)
