haha cal is so pale he wouldn't even need the white face paint, just the black for the lips and eyes XD
@Vicki you can't use 2 out of the 3 criteria - i'm not sure why but that's just how it is. you can either use all 3 for the sin bingo or just 1
yeah, my reading rate varies wildly depending on the length of the books i am reading, but i'm trying to save some of my longer ones for tower teams. unfortunately i have very few books on my tbr that are over 500 pages but at least books in the 400 page range will get us more than in the 100 and 200 lol
also if we do end up looking like we are going to go over in regards to books read we can always take off a few of the ones with lower point values

i finished today and my audio even had the short story the slip added onto the end so that was nice! definitely interested to see how you guys feel about the direction the second half of the series is taking. like i said before, i was really mad when loki died in the 3rd book and i was almost like 'do i even want to keep reading?' but now i think i might like the 2nd half of the series even better than the first because you still get loki's pov with amy having flashbacks of his memories but you also get bodhi who i think is an awesome character AND i feel like amy becomes a bit more proactive when loki is gone. like with bodhi i think she speaks up more and also takes more of a lead in the planning, which i guess makes sense because loki was so old and her and bodhi are more on the same footing, but still i think it's nice.also i was just planning on using this thread for the next book and then doing a new thread for the last book - and i think there's like an afterword novella as well - if that's okay with both of you?
and this has nothing to do with this series but i was watching the crow last night because that's just what i do when it's october and i started picturing cal dressed up as eric draven for halloween and now i'm just like 11/10 would recommend, wish there was a real fandom for that series so someone could draw it lol. i'm sure he'd complain about the makeup but at least he could just wear his own clothes. although i think the pants are technically leather so he'd probably have to borrow something from robin ;)
i'm good doing just the Y i already claimed. i had some more Y options but they were series starters and while i could have done it if needed, i'm not reaaally looking to start a new series now anyway lol
i've been wanting to reread Vicious [one of my recs] after reading The Monster of Elendhaven last week but i'm holding off in case i will get mini challenge points for waiting lol
@tea the cursed child has to be one of the worst pieces of crap i've ever read and every time i see someone giving it a rave review i'm just like wow it's amazing you can even type with your head so far up rowling's butt lol god it was just so badi have so many it's hard to pick just three
Blood Communion by Anne Rice is absolutely awful but then again so are most of the vampire chronicles really. i think it hit a new low though and has probably made me give up the series for good. another one of those books where when i see good reviews i'm just like 'wow you really will rate anything by a certain author positively won't you'
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. i'm sorry it's just bad. it's not that creative and really is the peak of horribleness for gaiman's manic pixie dreamgirl and boring leading man obsessions.
Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente. just because you cram as much purple prose as possible into something doesn't actually make it good! i could barely get through this one and every time i see someone shipping the two main characters i see red lol
hey i just wanted to say that when i shade the letter columns down in the spell it out section it's after i have added the page number count to the list i'm keeping for the ladder. i think someone shaded a few in that didn't have the page numbers, or else i just had a brain fart and accidentally did it myself last night. but just wanted to mention it in case we end up needing the ladder i wouldn't want to have missed a page count we could use because it accidentally got shaded in before i checked it.

i never really liked odin because i think it was clear from the beginning that he didn't really care about anyone but himself and was being really manipulative just to keep power but i don't think i hated him until we saw that he was the one who had the horse rape loki's previous incarnation. and then it just kind of goes downhill from there. the whole baby thing is ...well, it does have plot relevance although i agree that it probably also could have been left out but that's really just because i don't like pregnancy/babies in books. and i agree what steve did was a major dick move. most of the time i think he's TRYING to do the right thing even if he misses a lot, but that was like ...come on steve, you KNOW that was wrong.
i'm not 100% sure about the gate thing. maybe it's just 'gates are only relevant to the plot when they need to be' lol. or i think sometimes they close permanently or that you can open like a 'one time' gate or something? so maybe the gate in loki's apartment was not permanent and maybe some gates in the book have moved or closed ...or maybe amy just hasn't read the whole thing lol that would be very her.

i'm a little over halfway through because apparently i am just Like That ™ but i just wanted to pop over and say that odin is the absolute wooooooorst and i had forgotten how much, but also bodhi is the best so it keeps my rage in check lol ❤
also does anyone have any Y books? i think i can take one of the remaining two but i'm not sure about both
with the book you just finished we are now on track ...or i guess 3 and a half hours behind being on track TECHNICALLY but we are doing good, especially considering it took us longer to get through the countdown and stages 1 and 2 this time. i think we'll be okay, and if we feel like we are getting behind we can try to do some that are close to 100 pages

haha #oops they are getting longer so i'm less likely to get through it all in one day, although i am hoping to do some cleaning tomorrow which is good for audio books ;)

hey guys, i think i'm probably gonna start this tomorrow although there is always a chance i might decide to do a few chapters tonight
haha yeah i know one of mine was vicious by v.e. schwab but now i'm like mmmm what was the other one???
i wonder what they are going to do with the two books they asked us all to recommend when we filled out our surveys. i've already forgotten what i said for one of them [oops] and i'd reaaaally like to reread the other one but i'm putting it off now in case it will be worth extra points if i read it during the challenge.
