woman [female protagonist]
politican [a senator is a recurring character in the book]
greed [there are two factions both trying to make a fake brains substitute with the goal to blackmail the zombie population with it, which to me is pretty greedy]
wealthy / rich [main character's boyfriend has a very rich uncle who is head of one of the zombie research factions]
yeah last tuesday i think i was getting over capacity errors all day - really annoying since that was the day i was trying to delete a bunch of stuff from my tbr - and then on friday afternoon there was probably a 4 or 5 hour period where i got no notifications then they all came through at once

ok, finally through chapter 12!And ugh that Philip guy. What is up with her mommy feelings for him? Makes me wonder if that's how Marcus feels about Angel.
oh god, that's so creepy. i agree he's being much better in this book but that would be really messed up ...although would explain a lot of his behavior really.
and i loved santa clarita diet so much! i heard they canceled it which makes me sad because the last season ended on such a weird cliffhanger.
i think it's weird how chill she is about marcus' uncle now. i mean in the last book he was planning on doing this whole ~only i should be able to choose which zombies live by being the sole provider of brains~ thing and now it's just like hey it's your weird eccentric uncle! like ...no lol i guess her inner monologue is still a bit suspicious of him but i'm always just glaring at him like ...i know you're a dick even if you're acting nice!

i think 45 books puts us at 120%, our goal is 38 x 1.2 = 45.6 rounded down to 45 is our max. also we're only at 9 now so i doubt we'd get there anyway. i'll probably only get in 3 or 4 this week so sorry about that.

you guys are definitely get through this before me for once lol. not sure what chapter i'm in but i'm about a third of the way through.while i am enjoying this series i'm thinking i might need to take a break before the next one because i feel like if i keep pushing with it then i might end up not liking it so much. do you guys have any standalone books you'd like to read? i've got a shelf for the standalone books on my tbr or if you guys have any ideas i'm open to that too. i might want to read the first chapter before i decide to actually request the thread though lol [even for ones on my own tbr]
the cards seem to have a lot of the same words on each one so that might help making a bingo, but i agree it doesn't seem worth it to put too much effort into it

could maybe work for king since there are faerie kings that show up in a couple of stories or maybe water since there is a water faerie in the story 'Water-Called'
other option is to use it for Sloth > on tbr for 2+ years [since October 18, 2017] but that is only 1 point

i am ...not sure where i am chapter-wise but i guess about 1/6th of the way through the audio [they're at the fancy party thing] and i guess that isn't all that far in and maybe it's just my generally bad mood this week but it seems like this one is moving sooo sloooowly. i guess it's just because i don't really care about marcus. and i mean it's great she's gonna get her GED but also i don't need extended play by play of her studying for it. it just seems like they introduced the zombie movie thing in the first chapter and i was like 'ok what are we gonna do with this' and then they were like but first! other stuff!
hopefully it'll pick up soon but while i'm enjoying them these are kind of like juuuust on the wrong side of 'too domestic / inspirational' for me ...which you wouldn't think from the subject matter but idk.
also her putting brains with chocolate milk i'm just like [gags]. i'm not like ...against brains i guess, because you can eats brains of any animal but it makes sense to use them as a substitute for another meat in a stir-fry or something but she keeps mixing it with sweet stuff and i'm like oh god. i guess she has to have something she can eat/drink on the go but it still doesn't seem like it would be that good. i'm not sure what kind of 'savory' liquid concoction she could come up with though. but she keeps smoothie-fying them and i'm like ok that is literally like when they blend up mashed potatoes and steak for old people or something lol
i do think the animal challenge was probably the best one yet. the one with all the mystery thriller stuff was decent as well but mostly just because it allowed me to use a few books that otherwise i would have been getting only one point on lol

i have not. my seasonal depression is baaaaad this year so i've spent most of the past several days listening to funny podcasts with no desire to read. on the plus side though i have also literally taken 100 books off my tbr today loli will try to listen to some tomorrow though, maybe while i'm at work or something. i have a feeling that once i start it will go quickly like usual but i am so unmotivated. need to at least do a few books this week for towers though. i feel bad that i haven't been hitting my goal since the first few weeks.
haha we're either smarter or dumber but which way it swings is yet to be determined ;)i agree that there doesn't seem to be much incentive for many of the mini-challenges so far and also i guess just not as much going on as last year. maybe that's almost good in a way because things did seem to get a bit nuts at times with the harry potter theme but also it seemed much more fast paced. idk, this is only my second tower teams so i only have those two to compare.
unfortunately i will probably not read very many books this week anyway, but i'll hopefully get a few done and see if they work for any of the wordsalso, if there are 49 books to fill a card then isn't it impossible to fill a card without going over our limit? and i assume everyone has about the same limit so ...that doesn't really make sense to me since we would all get penalized for reading 49 books and wouldn't that cancel out the bonus points or even make us lose more points than we gain?
[edit] yeah i just went back and looked at the rules and it says "Teams that go over the 120% cap but stay under the 250% get a penalty of -100 points" so i don't know why anyone would fill up the card and read more books than they are allowed???

if you don't think you can put it under LGBT because it doesn't really have a lot of tags [although 1 other person besides me did tag it lgbt] then i guess just put it under anything goes, it's only 1 point of difference anyway. or maybe it can fit into the mini challenge somewhere?
