if you post in this thread that the book is done and mark it as read on your shelf then i think one of us should be able to make the post for you in the books read thread
@Mary yeah i was just saying that i happened to be reading one and would be finishing maybe around the right time, in case plethora didn't get started or had a ways to go. but it's fine to use it for a regular book as well. i haven't finished it yet so i can still wait til later today when vicki is done with #2.and i think they did post the countdown clock but like 4 hours before the round ended so it was easy to miss. anyway i think the '25th' just means the beginning of the round, which for a lot of people is technically the 24th. but as long as you post it after the start of the round i think you're good.
idk when the people for 1 and 2 plan on being done or if the person for 3 has started theirs yet but i will probably be done with a #3 in series sometime tomorrow morning ...about 14 hours from now. but if it doesn't fit in with the number thing then it's still good for green cover so 5 points either way
i wouldn't really want to take any of the lower books where people would be waiting for me to finish since i am so unmotivated to read right now, but i'll be reading A Hat Full of Sky for another challenge i'm trying to finish and it is Discworld #32 so i could plan to finish it at the end of the week and we could slot it in at the end since i doubt there are many other series that people will be reading that would go up that high
i usually only have a few books by any given author on my tbr at a time [or at least try to] then when i read something by an author i really like i will go to their page and see what else there is that i haven't read yet and add another to replace the one i just read, otherwise i'm sure my tbr would be muuuch longer.

do you guys only do classics for the weighty tome thing or is it just anything long? i was thinking of reading The Weird: A Compendium of Strange and Dark Stories next year and taking my time since it's so long [i think like 800k when i checked the word count a few months ago]. it's all horror short stories and it starts in the early 1900s i think and then they are all in chronological publication order and goes up to the 2000s. idk if that's the kind of thing anyone but me would be interested in though lol
do you want us to point out words we see and then plan to spell some? i guess we could try to be more ~secretive~ about it or whatever but i doubt people are really stalking our thread for big points ideas lol

ok finally finished! agree with claudia that i'm getting real sick of the 'marcus is an asshole but then says he's sorry so she forgives him rinse and repeat' thing. i mean i know that it's unrealistic to expect him to do a complete 180 immediately but also the fact that i just reeeeaaally don't like pietro feeds into it as well because i associate them with each other.
idk how the series is going to go but i really need pietro to die and this whole zombie mafia thing to get blown up. at the end of this book she's like 'well they're assholes but we need it' and i'm like you literally don't though? or at least not in the form it's in right now. i mean yeah it wouldn't be good to have like 'every zombie for themselves' but also i still think pietro is more concerned about profit and results than actual people and also that he is going to use it as a way to make sure the 'right' kind of people stay zombies and people he doesn't like won't get access to the things they need.
The zombie parent feelings are definitely creepy, and i don't know why she's not more concerned about marcus feeling like that towards her. i mean i know it gets brought up a couple of times but i would be much more freaked out if i was her. i'm wondering if it kind of goes both ways and that is why she cuts him so much slack with everything.
i didn't see the whole thing with nick coming and now i'm just like please no love triangle please no love triangle. or love square maybe? her zombie dad, her zombie son, and the random dude at work all fighting over her. no thank you lol
@Cathy i agree that i am totally confused as to who is with what group and what everyone is supposed to be doing. i thought it was just because i've been having trouble paying attention this week but i was really lost for a lot of the time. i'm just going to go with 'everyone is awful' lol
i'm wondering if marcus is pietro's actual uncle or maybe it's more like great-great-etc-uncle and he's just kind of ~the family uncle~ and everyone knows about it after they reach a certain age? i know it said in the last book he wears makeup to look older but he still could be even older than he is pretending to be.
