Lauri’s comments from the Nothing But Reading Challenges group.

I did mention my weirdness, right? I am a serial book starter! I love to start a whole bunch of books and read simultaneously. I jump back & forth through time and space, one topic/country/genre, etc. into the next! I never get mixed up. It may be days, weeks, months or even years before I finish certain ones. I don't know why this is. Most people consider it very strange, indeed.
Of all the books I started just today, I'm enjoying Grave Mercy most of all. I don't know why I've put off reading it for so long! Maybe the length? It's very readable YA. I think it will go by quickly...

This is SO much fun!

GO Team Hermione!! I'm busy reading like a chicken with its head cut off! Is that even possible!? reading so many different books, I'm not even sure which end is up anymore! I believe my first completion will be Dog on It or possibly My Life as a White Trash Zombie. It's a toss up! Both are really fun& this is supposed to be fun, right? 😄

I've re-read all the HP books (except the last two) numerous times, but it must've been over 10 years for this one. I have fond memories of reading them aloud to my now grown son. Even though he was perfectly capable of reading them for himself, he still wanted me to read them to him. We'll always have that bond. I never miss a Harry Potter weekend and will watch the movies whenever they're on TV.
I'm really looking forward to this buddy read!

Don't laugh, but I've only read Kate Daniels #1 Magic Bites. I would love to read them all. Looks like I'm going to be rather busy!

I'm in for Team Hermione! It's been awhile now. I remember reading the series aloud to my son!

BTW, Eni, my shelf is correct nbrc-tower-teams-2018. I cannot do a link to save my own life!

When I take the Pottermore House test, I get either Griffindor or Slytherin and my Patronus is a Bloodhound. Seems like there're worse things to be...😄

Well, everyone. So what are you most looking forward to reading during the games? I'm even considering re-visiting Harry again! I've re-read all but the last two, some multiple times!

For my first book I'm going for Antigoddess by Kendare Blake. I found a buddy read! I'm just too excited & want Monday to come already!

Ha! You are too funny! I'm much older than you imagine. I'm 54! I was very much alive in 1973! You should definitely visit Oahu again. You'll find it very much changed. Perhaps not for the better, but most definitely changed.
I went to Kauai for my honeymoon in 1989. I haven't been back since! We keep talking about going, but just never made it back yet. Would you believe it's cheaper for us to take a 5-day vacation in Las Vegas including airfare, hotel, transfers and meals than it is to go to an outer island for a weekend? Crazy, huh?

Thank you! It sure does look promising! Have you read Anna Dressed in Blood? I was so impressed by it that while waiting for the sequel to come in at my public library, I picked up Antigoddess! I want to read all her work now...

I'm on Oahu, in Kaneohe. If you visited the Polynesian Cultural Center, you drove right through our little town. It's mostly residential, just a big sprawling suburb. We're supposed to go to the Big Island at the beginning of June to celebrate our Aunty's 100th birthday. We were planning on staying a week with cousins, but now we don't even know if they'll still have a home! Volcanoes are scary! Dunno how Kauai is doing. Some parts were completely cut off. Not sure how the recovery will be by August. Some areas are really remote.

Aloha! I'm Lauri from Hawaii & I'm really excited to be here! I played last year & it was a blast! I was thrilled to find myself on Team Hermione. She is my most favorite Harry Potter character of all time! I was always the know it all little girl raising her hand to give the right answer in elementary school. I finally learned that that wasn't cool around ninth grade...

Here's a bit about me. I'm 54, married for almost 30 years to my husband, Scott. We have one grown son who's 25. He's still home with us. I work full time at the state mental hospital. (Stop laughing!) I'm an office assistant in medical records. It's always super busy & I enjoy it a lot. I feel like I'm really helping a lot of people.

I love to read & I will read just about anything! I've been on a paranormal & cozy mystery kick this past year. I also read multiple books simultaneously! Usually 5-12 at a time. I don't know why I do this, it's just always been this way... It may come in handy later!

I've already been planning out my reading list for TT. I'm hoping to knock off some big books. I'll always try to be working on a thick one while having some fun fast ones going at the same time. I think I'll either lead with Grave Mercy or Daughter of Smoke & Bone. Can't wait to get started and to get to know everyone!
