Nuh, spent the day trying to replan the holidays I had to cancel. I'm having crepes with my sister on Wednesday. At a cafe!!! Luxury.. and Yummy. But I'll still be taking my mask and sanitiser. Don't think we're out of the woods yet.
Finished my first book for the challenge (and posted to shelf and s/sheet)
. And it was brilliant - 5 stars. Karin Slaughter is the master of the dark thriller.PS So glad I have a light and fluffy one up next. My favourite space smut.. I'm still reading Brides of the Kindred, Sally, 🤣
Great to hear from you Jenny. Definitely your health should be your priority and we'll catch up with you on our next itinerary. 😊
Hi everyone, excited for the challenge to start. I'm just finishing off my last book to coincide with reading a fresh book for the challenge. What is everyone's first book going to be be? Mine is
by Lucinda Riley. It's the second book in The Seven Sisters series. I really enjoy these family stories set over generations. Happy reading all.

The November BOM's are up. I'm really pleased because the one I chose for YA got chosen. So I nominated for DQ's as well.

Great we're all eager to play. Captains, do you want us to post our read books here as well or just on the Spreadsheet?
Done, Namita. Did you enjoy the book! I really like Juliet Marillier, she writes beautifully and her tales are quite unique. So it seems most of the team are leaning towards the spell it out. Lets do New Caledonia as Noumea only has six letters. I'm sure a few of us can double up. Let's end this stop and catch up 31st October.

St Mary's Institute is a series about a time travelling team
"History is just one damned thing after another."
Behind the seemingly innocuous façade of St Mary's, a different kind of historical research is taking place. They don't do 'time-travel' - they 'investigate major historical events in contemporary time'. Maintaining the appearance of harmless eccentrics is not always within their power - especially given their propensity for causing loud explosions when things get too quiet.
Meet the disaster-magnets of St Mary's Institute of Historical Research as they ricochet around History. Their aim is to observe and document - to try and find the answers to many of History's unanswered questions...and not to die in the process. But one wrong move and History will fight back - to the death. And, as they soon discover - it's not just History they're fighting.
Follow the catastrophe curve from 11th-century London to World War I, and from the Cretaceous Period to the destruction of the Great Library at Alexandria. For wherever Historians go, chaos is sure to follow in their wake.... (less)
