I wonder if we have say 5 plates of sandwiches do we have to have a separate description for each plate?

I did a quick tally up of what we've got so far -

32 completed meals comprising of -

Fish and chips with vinegar - 4
sandwiches - 10
coffee - 4
curry - 3
tea -4
pasta -3
salad -2
quiche -2

And 4 books over 500 in progress to add some desserts.

I think we're going okay. Especially with only 5 of us. I've advertised for another player too.

Team Tienuurtj has a no show - and five committed players so we have a vacancy.

Anyone interested pop over to our thread, CC if your team has to disband we are happy to take one of you guys.

Thanks Nikk. That’s what I thought as well looking at the rules. Vinegar twice in one book... too good to pass up!

Just a quick question -

If the word vinegar appears twice in the same book, can we use it in two different meals?

Hi ladies, looks like we are getting the hang of this challenge. I can't believe how many food words there are in the average novel.

Susan, still hasn't checked in. Should we be looking for a replacement or give her till the end of the week?

- I LOVED this book. It had me thinking about it days after I finished. Reese Witherspoon has optioned the rights for it, looking forward to seeing it on screen.

I don't have a book with a song but if I come across one that's great, otherwise there's always Read Any Book..

It sure is a work in progress. It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out and is scored at the end of the first round.

I was thinking the same thing, Carrie. And how can you have a sandwich without the bread as an item. But the rules don't specify so I think we're good with weird combinations.

Think so, Carrie. As Rina suggested, having a gap between the meals for clarity is a good idea.

Thanks Rina. The way I read it is you have to have four items and the vinegar makes the five for bonus points.

So I have another set of four items for fish and chips -

Fish, potatoes, salt and lemon from . Just needs vinegar... which I think Tina has somewhere. I'll pop it in the spreadsheet as an unfinished meal.

How's everyone enjoying the challenge so far? It's fun, once you get the hang of it.

So, I just want to clarify the amount of items in Fish and Chips.

Instructions say - Fish and Chips (fish, or any types of fish, potato,salt, lemon) Note for scavenger hunt only: must contain all these items (4) add vinegar for bonus points.

Does this mean that we have to have all four items , fish, potato, salt and lemon plus vinegar to get the maximum points?
