I think Cat just complied the list today.

My hold came available and I pushed it back a week because I was drowning in library audios that are due soon. But I'll certainly listen when I get it again!

@Tricia - would The Watch That Ends the Night fit this task? At least for the ones that did survive.

35559 For those looking for book ideas, or anyone just curious to see what everyone else is reading, the Challenge Status spreadsheet (which is linked in the first comment of the thread) has a tab which lists all the books/countries that all the teams have read for so far (labelled Sheet 3).

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

While perusing the list I discovered that The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is included with an Audible subscription, so I grabbed that. And I've been meaning to re-read Starter Villain since I got the audio recently. So I'll add those to my list of possibles for the next 2 months.

Also, someone recommended Conclave for Holy See as a good political mystery.

35559 Aiswyra said something about not being sure if extra books can go toward the cap. So if Jacqueline reads 15 books, which is 5 over her cap and you read 12 books, with a cap of 15, can 3 of her books be used to get to your cap? I wasn’t sure, which is why I used our sign up numbers, not our caps in my post.

35559 New Task!

Read a book that is an against all odds / survival story

35559 If anyone is wondering, on the spreadsheet, the Summary tab shows the number of books that you have added to the spreadsheet. If you go the last tab, Member Info, the number of books for each person shows only the books that have a date read added. So for finished books we are at 105 out of 169 (259 if you include the cap amount). So we're getting close and need to keep an eye on it, but we have a bit of wiggle room.

I swear I've read it, but it must have been pre-Goodreads. I know there is a show, but the show was less gritty than the books (that almost never happens!). I did finish it, but I didn't finish the series.

35559 Ashley wrote: "@Laura! I'm reading a paperback copy and there's no dates at the chapter start! Not a single one, lol!"

That's probably because I got 2 books mixed up in my mind. The one that I had a hard time following the dates was These Burning Stars. Also good, but harder to follow in audio than Time War.

The thing about Time War is that in the middle it doesn't read like a time travel book. The beginning and the end are a time travel book, but the middle is just a romance. But confusing!

It's a no on the graphic novel. They only work if you can find a word count on a site like arbookfind or if there is an audio edition at least 3 hours long.

For the rest of your books, can you please add them to your Tower shelf. If we end up under our cap, it is easier for us to look at your shelf and compare that to the spreadsheet, rather than trying to go back through 2 weeks of posts in this thread. Thanks!

I just didn't want you to be upset if you picked it up just for that task. :)

Reposting this in case it got lost at the end of a page.

I'll let you know for sure! I just started it, and I am struggling a little with what the heck is going on, but I think I'm just tired today! 😂"

You may be tired, but it wouldn't matter if you were better rested! But if I remember correctly, you get an event from POV, and then the last thing that happens in that POV switches you to another POV. That made the audio a little hard to follow. Especially because I couldn't just turn the pages back and check the dates of the events. It says a date at the beginning of each chapter. That helps to place things in a semblance of an order.

Read a book first published in March of any year

I'll mark this one down for that task. We don't want the mods to say Tricia's book doesn't count because of the 2 different editions/covers.

35559 @Ashley - I would be interested to hear how you find This Is How You Lose the Time War. I listened to the audio and it was quite a ride.

I’m not on my computer now, but if no one else gets to it before, I can put this one in this evening and get a new task.
