Wow, the last 150 pages were intense! This has been my favorite of the books so far. Can't wait to see what the next has in store!

(view spoiler)[I loved the way that everybody ended up in Tear and at the Stone at the same time. Mat has really turned around; I am so glad to see him thinking of the others instead of himself. And Perrin - apparently he cares a little more for Zarine than he admits. Such a good ending! (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 40-46: (view spoiler)[I agree, Juliana, that Selene may be a Forsaken. This is really getting interesting. I wonder if the girls are ta'veren too because they seem just as important to what's happening as the boys. Lan and Moiraine - there is something going on. It almost sounds like Moiraine thinks she will not survive much longer and wants Lan to be able to carry on without her. Mat's adventures in Caemlyn were very exciting. He overhears the plot and realizes that the Queen's advisor is the one who wants to have Elayne and the others killed. Gaebril must be a Darkfriend or maybe even a Forsaken. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 34-39: (view spoiler)[I'm really curious about the girl named Zarine and that she is the falcon that Min saw on Perrin's shoulder. Who is the hawk? We've seen the Aielman in a cage that Perrin freed. It's good that Nynaeve can heal. Elayne nearly dies and Nynaeve just touches her to heal her and after healing the maiden of the spear. I still find it interesting that the only way Nynaeve can call on the One Power is when she's angry. (hide spoiler)]

Juliana, I also find it amusing that the boys always think one of the others understands women better than he does. Also like that this book is following the girls and Perrin. They are my favorite characters.

Juliana, I haven't caught up with you (I'm only through chapter 33) yet but here are comments in reply to yours.

Chapters 24-26: (view spoiler)[I thought the fight between Mat and Galad and Gawyn was very insightful. The fact that he speaks the old language and fights like he does must be important. If Rand is the dragon reborn, then is Mat a hero from Manetheren reborn? And, like you, I wonder about Elayne and why she doesn't have as prominent a role as Egwene and Nynaeve. I can't help but wonder what Mr. Jordan had in mind for Elayne. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 27-29: (view spoiler)[Egwene's dream was really spooky. The part about Perrin with him holding himself within the chain attached to the pillar and Hopper being in the room - was that showing the struggle Perrin is having to not give himself up to his wolf instincts? And who could this Silvie be? I agree with you, Juliana, that Callandor is to be the object of interest going forward. Also agree that giving Mat that letter from the Amyrlin was craziness. I just don't believe those three have much sense sometimes! And Selene - yes, I believe she is an agent of the Dark One and is probably responsible for the deaths that are occurring. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 30-33: (view spoiler)[Mat's luck is certainly uncanny. It must have something to do with the dagger. And it's good to see Thom again. Maybe he will be able to keep Mat grounded a little. I'm not sure Mat should be left on his own! (hide spoiler)]
