35559 Oh, and I finished Rock Hard (Rock Kiss, #2) by Nalini Singh which features a pretty nice cover, even if he's not quite half naked. ;) This is the 4th re read for me of this one -- clearly its one of my favs.

35559 Are we allowed to use subtitles for tasks? I'm starting American Predator: The Hunt for the Most Meticulous Serial Killer of the 21st Century. If we can use them it works for a bunch of the spell outs, and the ordinal number. But if not, I'll take those tasks off the list in tracking.
35559 My copy was due back at the library, so I've finished, I'll try to keep it as to what I was thinking at the time.... :)

DQs Day 1 - Chaps 1 - 10

1. What do you think of Willowdean? Does she feel like a sufficiently real person?
She's likeable but a bit annoying -- so basically perfect for a 16 year old, at least in my experience. So I'd say she's a pretty real character at this point.

2. What you you think about her relationship with Ellen? They are starting to keep secrets from each other now - do you think that this is the start of a drifting apart or will they stay close? I think its natural at that age to drift, especially with Ellen moving into a more serious relationship with her boyfriend. They seem like close enough friends that they will eventually talk through some of this.

3. Bo is interesting - the opposite of Will in terms of being reserved in comparison to her chattiness, but with something lurking in his backstory. Do you want to have a guess at what's up with him? Would anyone NOT have done the same as Will and followed him to the abandoned school in the hopes of more making out?!
Yup, I'd have gone. I'm a sucker for a strong silent type though. Not sure what his backstory is, maybe just something to do with his Mom?

4. Will claims ownership of "fat" when she introduces herself to Bo. How successful do you think she is in her aim to stop it from being an insult? I get what she is trying to do, but at the same time, she expresses being uncomfortable with it, so I'm not sure she's succeeding as much as she's trying.

5. Lucy has clearly been a big influence in both Will and Ellen's lives, and yet they haven't been talking about her at all since her death. Do you think this is a normal reaction to a sudden death? Would you be like Will's mother, and get rid of everything, or keep it? I'd probably be hanging onto everything, especially when it happens so fast. I think if you have more time to prepare, its easier to release the "things" when they are gone. Not sure 6 months would be long enough for me to make that transition.

who is the superstitious character in your Drop Dead Gorgeous book?"

The MC Zoey is superstitious. She touches wood regularly to ward off bad juju. I've never heard of it, but its a big thing of hers and they make several comments about how superstitious she is about it.

35559 I finished Dumplin' (Dumplin', #1) by Julie Murphy this morning since it was due back at the library - I'll get the questions next week as they go.

I'm not a big YA reader outside of some fantasy, but it was pretty cute. Likeable characters with some good messages and I think I only rolled my eyes once or twice because, well, 15 year olds. Plus the audio reader did a nice job.

35559 @bamaace -- Scribd and I had a disagreement about who was signing into my account and changing my password last year, so I don't have access any more. :( Thanks though! I get it eventually because it sounds like its a pretty good story.

35559 Yay for daily question points!

I finished Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley yesterday -- I needed it for another challenge and amazingly never had to read it in High school. I found I pretty much loathed Frankenstein -- is that the general consensus, or am I overreacting??

35559 I wanted to do The Lost Orphan, but my library doesn't have it, and the kindle price is a little high for an author I don't know. I have Dumplin' ready to go this week.

I reserved a copy of The Midnight Library but I'm #346. We have 150 copies, but.... We'll see.

Soooo, I read that task wrong. There is no Morris Dancing in that one. Sorry!

1.5x is as slow as I can go these days -- glad I'm not the only one! Usually I'm in the 1.8x range or 2.0 if the book is bad and I just want to get done.

35559 My reading week did not go as planned, so I have ~100 pages of my last April book to finish then I'll start on TT.

I LOVE everything Ilona Andrews. They are one of my few auto buys no matter what the topic or world looks like. :) I've done all the series multiple times and on audio.

35559 Captains -- I'm planning on filling in the SS with my book info. Should I do a completion post here with all the options the book works for in tasks, bingo, etc? Or should I jot them down in the empty column (G) in the SS?

Working on finishing up my last few books before we start on Saturday! :)

35559 Hello Team! I'm so excited TT is getting ready to start again. This was my gateway challenge and still my favorite. I think I missed the first couple of rounds, but know I've done at least the last 5 or 6 years.

I'm in North Carolina in the States, live with just my VERY spoiled dog and work as a PT in a trauma center in Raleigh -- reading has been a HUGE stress reliever for me over the last year.

I will read just about anything -- including horror/thriller so I can pick those up if we need someone. :) My favorites are Urban Fantasy, mystery/suspense, scifi and romance. I have not read any of the Discworld series and will give them a try this challenge, but straight fantasy and I have a bit of a love/hate relationship, so we will see how it goes.

Here is my shelf:

Looking forward to playing with you all!

35559 All my books are on the SS. I should finish the last two tomorrow and I'll update and be done. I will be traveling starting Thursday, so probably won't get anymore done after tomorrow.

35559 I'll have my last book done tomorrow -- probably around lunch time east coast.
