35559 So many books I've read and loved on here. And lots I want to get to, so I'm excited for mini-challenge possibilities.

I also didn't like this one. I listened to the audio and was bored throughout the whole thing.

Agreed. While I didn't HATE it, I can't believe this gets to be canon, while there are so many much better fanfics out there.

I'm most interested in the books people list that everyone seemed to love but them. I love going to a book page and seeing all my friends 4 and 5-star the book and then reading the review of one friend who tears apart the book on their one-star review, even if it's a book I loved.

35559 Funny to see so many people who hated The Knife of Never Letting Go. This is one of the most polarizing books I know of. I am one of those who absolutely LOVED the whole series. Especially the second book!

35559 Ok here we go (Team Ira):

You Too Can Have a Body Like Mine
This book was... weird. So weird I didn't know what to make of it. It's like when you have a dream and try to put it into words to tell someone and it just doesn't make any sense. Either this book was a case of the emperor having no clothes, or it's genius but completely above my head. I actually didn't find it a chore to read, but I didn't get any kind of story arc or understanding of what was going on in the characters' minds. I was so baffled.

Until November
People loooooove this book but I HATED it! I thought the writing was so cringe-worthy and full of cliches. The male main character was an absolute jerk and not at all sexy or romantic, and he used intimidation on the heroine constantly to get her to do whatever he wanted.

I'll Give You the Sun
Blegh, another book everyone loved but me. The writing style, the metaphors, all of it just wasn't for me. Re-reading my review, I did give the book two stars instead of one because of the ending. Still annoyed that I bought this one in hardcover because I expected such great things.

I'd heard such good things about this and Bring Up the Bodies, that I still read Bringing Up the Bodies. Didn't like that one either. I don't think Mantel is the author for me."

I spent so many years hearing how great Wolf Hall was, but couldn't get past 72 pages. I couldn't imagine slogging through something so boring for another 600 pages.

35559 I hear you. It is frustrating to read a book you need to get to with 410 pages and see others read something with 119 pages worth way more points!

Jenny, I'm missing you on my team for Turf Wars! It's fun this round, and super intense of course. There are some changes, like a spell-out for every turf every round, and handicap points, so strategy is keeping me on my toes more so than last game.

Totally agree. When people say they don't like cats (which I will be honest, totally judging over here), I always think, "you would like my cats". They are so affectionate, always snuggling and looking for rubs.

35559 FYI, someone I'm friends with on Team Jealousy (Vicki) read Wilder Girls on July 10, 2019, so we're all good to read it and finish whenever to qualify for Sin Bingo.

35559 None of the BOMs were already on my TBR and my library doesn't have ebook copies of any of them, but Wilder Girls sounds interesting, so I did put a hold on it for a physical copy from my library (not willing to pay $11.99 for the ebook). I'm number 32 on 7 copies so I don't know if I will get it in time, but I'll try.

35559 It seems like we have the hardest sin bingo so I can't imagine us winning Pride, but I'm open to giving my all to whatever else we end up feeling might be possible for the team to accomplish.

35559 I've been looking through books for additional sin bingos. It is definitely hard, but I found one not listed on the planning spreadsheet. Getting two out of three isn't any additional points right? It's either all three or just any one?

Do we get the same amount of points for any of the sins that we read for? Like if I have a book that works for a cover colour or a genre, I can put it toward either and they would be the same amount of points? Do we have any strategy yet about whether we want to spread our points out over all the sins or focus more on some than others?
