Wow, I'm only up to chapter nine but so far the movie has mirrored the book ver closely. After watching the movie though I did expect Four to be a lot older.

Great to hear your furbaby is doing much better Erin!

Trailer looks good. I struggle with war movies though, so I don't know if I would watch it or not.

The end of January will work..."Hi Elena, just checking you were still up for starting
Divergent on the 20th. The thread hs been posted for January. I'm about to start it now.

I will be starting this one today. I'm looking forward to it as I really liked the film.

Big Hugs Erin, its awful when our pets hurt. Sending positive thoughts your way.

If you love the first one, I think you will love the second one too!

Do you think this will change your mind about PNR V :)

I am still floored away by how the world is.Yeah the world building is pretty awesome and just so out there. It does make for a dense read though, I don' think I could read more than one at a time with a break between.

I'm looking forward to it too :). See you on the 8th

Can we make it about the 8th?

Yep I would definitely be interested in a BR for #2, especially in Feb, I am a bit overbooked for Jan at the moment :)

Yeah, this was a great first novel for the series, I definitely want to read more.
(view spoiler)[ you are right in that it is probably one of the most brutal detective type stories I have read - Some pretty sick stuff was done to the ladies. I too did not know who it was until the author decided she wanted me to know, which is great. There is nothing worse than figuring it out way in advance so that reading the rest of the book is just going through the motions. I think Karina Slaughter was clever in getting the reader to root for the relationship between Sara and Jeffrey as that alone would encourage me to read the next book, let alone how good her actual story was. Karla wrote: "Through chapter 3 I can't stand Ms LeefoltYeah, there are some really unlikable characters in this book. Although Ms Leefolt is pretty awful, Hilly takes the cake for me. I think this book works so well because of how awful the society ladies are - it makes you really root for Aibeleene, Minnie, Skeeter and the rest of the maids.

(view spoiler)[ I am wondering who the postcard is from and what it's all about. I am sure I will find out by the end.
What happened to Sybil is truly awful and I probably wasn't expecting the story to start off with Sara finding get body the way she did. (hide spoiler)].
So far I am really enjoying the book. I really like Jeffrey, he seems like a good police officer. I can't say I have warmed to Lena much at this stage, her grief is creating too much anger which is making it difficult to connect with her, but she does seem like a pretty savvy detective.

The Handmaid's Tale (1985) by Margaret Atwood (Goodreads Author) (Paperback..."I read this one in November so happy to come and chat with you about it.

I finished this a couple of days ago. Having never read a Nalini Singh book before I didn't know what to expect. I really enjoyed it. I liked both the MC Raphael and Elena and thought they worked well together. I think Nalini's world building was interesting where vampires are the slaves/employees of the angels and that each of the archangels is responsible for a different territory on Earth. I have read a lot of angel books and the world in this one was quite different from all the others. I will definitely be reading the next in the series when I get a chance.
