35559 wowzers! I've found a Vegemite in a book I want to read soonish!

I've a couple of longer slower books on the go (for hard countries), so I imagine it'll be Sunday before I get to it.

So: pressure off people to hunt down Vegemite, but I'm happy to be bumped too :)

35559 @Sarah: Yeah, it was very unpleasant travelling to and from work at the start of the week, but has cooled down a bit now. I'm glad it's been nicer for you :)

I'm happily recovered from the lurgee (I took a test and it came back negative for covid, but who knows), which is a relief - it knocked me sideways good and proper!

35559 finished Witches Abroad, which features a Mardi Gras carnival, and starting Maskerade for opera visit

35559 An I character super helpful for both spell outs :)

I'm slightly focussing on Brazil over Australia, as we have more of the tasks done, so priorities for statue or forest on cover from people :)

35559 Thanks all!

Lucy, as long as you have your shelf updated we can grab book information from there, so don't worry about the SS :)

35559 for carnaval - it can be any Mardi Gras festival type celebration - the vibe being a big organised thing that is religious adjacent (i.e. Notting Hill Carnival wouldn't work, being as it is a purely cultural thing taking advantage of a bank hol)
Jul 01, 2025 01:56PM

35559 and finished Small Gods :)

Jun 30, 2025 03:06AM

35559 Ain't that the way?!

35559 We've got a new country!

Australia!

So be on the lookout for Vegemite, marsupial and opera trips.

We also quite need a philosopher character. I think there's scope for this to be a bit wider than just Xeno from Small Gods (though I'm 100% in favour of that too!)
A religious leader (priest, rabbi, iman etc) would work, assuming they muse on philosophical issues at some point in the book.
Other options no doubt exist, so do shout if you have something that might work!
