35559 Hi Brit & welcome. I'm another 1 of the co-captains. Give us a shout if you've any problems or questions. There's more details about the October read-a-thon in the sister group - and still a few days for you to decide if you wanna join in. :o)

35559 The reading like a banshee might work better then...

35559 Also if anyone likes the idea of the 2nd challenge (the treasure hunt idea) then maybe let us know what themes are jumping out to you.

35559 No problem at all Kamica, already accepted your friend request. Is this your first time reading the Harry Potter books?

35559 Hi Kamica & welcome to the team. If you've any questions or problems just shout! :o)

35559 Sounds like September's pretty busy for a lot of people. It's actually a bit quieter for me after a hectic summer! Picked up a bit more on my reading again after it seemed like I was making very slow progress with my books for most of August.

35559 Sounds like you will be busy Rebecca! September should be a bit quieter for me again, and hopefully I'll get a bit more reading done. I seem to have been going very slowly this month :o(

35559 End of August is a bit crazy for me as always - from the middle of August it's literally away a while, home for 3 days, away again, home for another 3 days and then away again...

35559 A lot of car trouble - in fact mum's car is still stuck there, and still not fixed. 2 & half weeks... starting to seem a bit excessive. At this rate they're going to have me on the phone giving them a piece of my mind.
Scotland is a lovely place, kinda like my 2nd home. I'm usually there 4/5 times every year. First time anything this bad has happened though.

Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2) by Kami Garcia"

I bought it during my nightmare of a trip to Scotland, and the next 1 in the series. What did you think of it??

I've read the whole series now. Think I read the first 3 in a row back in 2011 so can't quite remember what happened in each book now. Overall I enjoyed the series

What do you think of Torment so far?

35559 I never listen to audio books... I although I hear of people listening to them through this site, I don't know any in real life who does...

35559 Hi Nancy Helen - I'm a bit late but welcome to the team! :o)

Jodi - I also enjoyed reading The Language of Flowers, although I read it about a year & half ago, probably longer. Definately worth reading.

Sorry I haven't been about so much past few weeks. Everythings just been kinda hectic here. Really need an extra day in the week...

35559 I prefer the books to the show... complete opposite with Vampire Diaries, love the show, hate the books.
May 19, 2013 12:20PM

35559 There's 13 books in the series Rebecca. The 1st season is fairly close to the books, although some characters are in the show, but not the books. After season 1, the show & the books differ more and more.

35559 Has anyone else read the Sookie Stackhouse books? The final was released a few weeks ago. I finished it on Thursday/Friday. Just wondering if anyone else here had read it & what they thought?

I know what you mean - I hated the characters in Gone Girl... what awful people. I'd hate to know either of them. But I still liked the book, it was interesting reading. I guess we just weren't meant to like Nick or Amy!

35559 Wow... I'm surprised at how many of you guys haven't read Harry Potter. I'm like Rebecca - I love it! Went to the midnight opening for HP7 (book) and the midnight screening of 7 Part 2 (film). When HP5 was released I was in Scotland for the weekend, and pre-ordered it at a bookshop in the town I was staying in!

Let me know what you think of The Elegance Of The Hedgehog. I saw it in the shop and thought it sounded kinda interesting. But it was on 1 of my good days when I didn't buy anything.
