I thought she just meant she gave up trying to create the shelf until someone had a solution?

We could either rotate the entire batch of responsibilities, or we could split up the work and each be responsible for a certain element of the job over the course of the challenge. (Personally, I think the latter option would be easiest to keep track of.)"

The latter might be easier... and then if someone's away on holidays or not gonna be about much with other commitments then the others can cover those jobs?
But maybe worth everyone keeping an eye if there's any problems, I think we're all different countries, so covers the time zones pretty well then.

I almost went into Criminal Law myself. My undergrad was in that. How do you like it? I am curious about how different the laws are between Ireland and the US. "

I love it, can be challenging at times as you have to deal with people accused of some pretty awful offences. If you've any specific questions about the law here feel free to ask!

35559 I'd be happy to volunteer as a co-captain as well... I think Karen & Tanya also volunteered?

Do we wanna go with a few people to share out the responsibilities? Anyone else interested? How mamny do we need?

I like the idea of a name but I'm awful at trying to pick them!

35559 My turn I guess....

I'm Vikki, from Northern Ireland. I'm a lawyer, my main area of interest being criminal law. I'm self-employed so my time's reasonably flexible.

I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember. Can't imagine life without books. I read a little bit of everything.... chick lit, paranormal, crime/legal, historical fiction, classics... Or anything that sounds like a good read.

Goodreads has probably made my book addiction worse. My to-read shelf never really seems to get smaller. There are so many great books out there to be read and I'm sure I'll never get time to read them all! But I'll enjoy trying.

Apart from that my big love in life is music - playing, listening to, going to concerts. I also enjoy penpalling. And 101 other things I guess...

Enough about me!!

35559 Can I suggest we should maybe do some introductions to ourselves... I'm not sure I recognise any names. Might be nice to get to know each other a little.

I like the idea of alternating - or even having a couple of people to share the load. Life can get in the way sometimes so might be handier?

Hmmm.... I just did mine and it was ok. Maybe delete the shelf and then use the sign-up to re-create it?

I read Twenties Girl a few months ago and enjoyed it. Had been in my to-read pile for ages!!

35559 Hmmmm.... let's see

1: I have a bad tendancy to pick up other peoples accents - especially Scottish, American or Canadian. I lapse into a Scottish accent without even noticing sometimes - even if I've not heard the accent. I did read somewhere that it means you're in tune with people if you pick up their accent.

2: I love snow, even though it often means I get snowed in. The more the better - I just wish we got more here!

3: I'm very cynical about "love" which is mostly because of 1 person.

4: I have a very competitive streak. Especially with what I call my "band stuff". Ok is not good enough. I can be my own biggest critic. And when it comes to learning new stuff, I want to be the first to have it off, and have it right.

5: Speaking of band stuff... I'm in a pipe band. I have taken part in competitions since 1995. It's easily my biggest obsession. Any guy who comes into my life will just have to accept that. It's the thing that keeps me sane (or as close to sane as I can claim to be).

6: I describe my bedroom as organised chaos. BUT when I was working as a legal executive my files were perfectly tidy, as was my desk. Everything had a place, everything was in it's place and it was anything but chaotic.

7: I hog the duvet... a lot. I love wrapping myself up in as much of it as possible.

8: I'm not a morning person - I'm a night owl! I just don't function right first thing in the morning. In my last job I was in the office at 7.30 each morning - the only reason I wasn't lil miss grumpy was because I'd spent 1 hour on the road and had time to wake up a bit more.

9: I prefer texting to phonecalls. In fact a ringing phone can irritate me quite quickly. I blame that on having to deal with people in work who kept ringing when they didn't need to.

10: My inner child still exists. I love classic disney films, and kids tv shows from the very late 80s / early 90s. Retrojunk and youtube are good to feed that habit!

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: I'm happy enough here... if I had to move, it would probably be Scotland cause it's already like my 2nd home.
Weird stuff I’m into: I'm in a pipe band (think bagpipes, kilts etc) It's probably not the most common hobby!
Why I read: I've loved books since I was very little. It's just so easy to escape into lots of other worlds.
