35559 Have a safe trip to Seattle and a good time when you're there.

Nancy - what do you think of Debbie Macomber's books? I've only read A Merry Little christmas as one of my December reads which I liked. Wondering her books without the christmas theme are like...

35559 Congrats Jodi.

Looks like some interesting books mentioned for faves so far.

35559 Random question for everyone - what's the best book you've read so far this year?
Apr 30, 2013 10:03AM

35559 I'm very tempted with the readathon but no idea how much reading I'd get done... seem to have slowed down a little over the past month...

Questions and Comments for Pages 206 - 257:
Start: "It was time."
Stop: "So what's at your dad's house?"

So I'm gonna open a big can of worms.

Have you or someone you've known acted one way while dating acted and then another later?"

Kinda my ex... from early on in our relationship I knew he'd had a drink problem in the past. But it was under control. After we split up (we'd a good relationship, he just suddenly ended it with no reason) next thing he was drinking out of control again. He's engaged now to a girl who is the total opposite of everything he said was important in a girlfriend. Maybe it's partly down to the drink, but the guy he is now is not the guy I fell for. He's now pretty much everything I dislike in a guy.
35559 I've just finished reading this book, but going to keep my comments very general so I don't give anything away to those who haven't finished. I struggled to decide how many stars to give this book. I enjoyed the storyline, I wasn't expecting everything that happened. I wasn't keen on the ending... and I didn't like Nick or Amy. They both come across as pretty screwed up... I couldn't imagine a marriage like that. The further into the book I got, the more I disliked both characters. I finally decided on 4 stars.

I can't see your shelves to check this out for you - if you want to add me as a friend then I'll have a look. It may just be taking time for everything to update.

35559 Not sure I'd be able to take part in the readathon... may not realistically be able to reach the target...

35559 I live in Northern Ireland.

Do you play any instruments?
I currently play the bagpipes. But I can also play the piano, accordian, I can drum a bit, and I used to be able to play the violin.

35559 I've finished my 1st book for this challenge
Chocolate Shoes and Wedding Blues by Trisha Ashley
I've read quite a few books by Trisha Ashley and enjoyed them all, including this one.

35559 I've liked all the books I've read in 2013... the last book I read that I didn't like I finished on New Years Eve (I think)... it was Murder in Monte Carlo It sounded like it should be good, but it just disappointed. I couldn't get into it at all. I expect something with murder to grab and hold my attention much more.

Do you speak any other languages apart from your native language?
I speak French and German. I know a little Japanese (learnt it for a year in school)... and a very small smattering of Italian, Polish and Russian. I'd like to learn more of the last 3.

35559 I think it would be a good and easy way to get to know each other a bit better. :o)

35559 Hi everyone and welcome to the Team!

I'm gonna suggest we all do a short intro to get to know each other. So I suppose I should start.

I'm Vikki, from Northern Ireland. One of the co-captains... for the 2nd time. (I was co-captain for Team c last time). I work as a lawyer, mostly criminal law. I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember and like a variety of genres.

At the moment I'm reading Chocolate Shoes and Wedding Blues by Trisha Ashley

Random other stuff... I love music, penpalling, photography, animals...

35559 I've requested to join the group now - been travelling most of the day and was across the border on a roaming mobile network (hate roaming costs, they sting my phonebill too much!)

Last team we'd split the captain duties, different people dealt with different duties, but helped out as needed.
