For each book you read, count the number of letters in the title (including subtitle), the authors first name, the authors last name or any combination of the above. Add these totals together until you get to exactly 100. If you go past 100 leagues (letters), you may use more books to sail back again (subtract) to get to the 100 league mark.

~HOT & COLD READING CHALLENGE~
July is Summer time, with beaches, ice creams and aquatic sports, right? True, if you are in the US or Europe. However, if you live in Chile, Argentina or Australia, your thoughts are hot chocolate, warm fireplaces, cozy pajamas and fuzzy slippers.
Option Two:Spell-it-Out: Using the first letter in the book's title (or name of the series), the first letter in the author's first or last name, or the first letter of a character’s first, last, or nick-name. As always, if the first letter of a title starts with ‘A’, ‘An’, ‘The’, etc., you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word.

History of Fireworks:
"Fireworks were invented in ancient China in the 7th century to scare away evil spirits, as a natural extension of one of the Four Great Inventions of ancient China, gunpowder. Such important events and festivities as Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival were and still are times when fireworks are guaranteed sights. China is the largest manufacturer and exporter of fireworks in the world.
Fireworks are generally classified as to where they perform, either as a ground or aerial firework. In the latter case they may provide their own propulsion (skyrocket) or be shot into the air by a mortar (aerial shell).
The most common feature of fireworks is a paper or pasteboard tube or casing filled with the combustible material, often pyrotechnic stars. A number of these tubes or cases are often combined so as to make, when kindled, a great variety of sparkling shapes, often variously colored. The skyrocket is a common form of firework, although the first skyrockets were used in war. Such rocket technology has also been used for the delivery of mail by rocket and is used as propulsion for most model rockets. The aerial shell, however, is the backbone of today's commercial aerial display, and a smaller version for consumer use is known as the festival ball in the United States."
1) Use the list of words, below, to create a spell-it-out challenge. Read books that begin with each of the corresponding letters of the word you choose.
Aerial Firework:
these items are chain-fused fireworks that propel a series of aerial shells, comets or mines into the air from collectively attached tubes to produce various colors, noises, and effects. Aerial Fireworks come in a large variety of effects and sizes and are the most beautiful of show pieces of the consumer fireworks (a show in a box). They are also called "Cakes" or "Repeaters."

For this challenge read/do one or more of the following:
- Read books which contain scenes of a picnic on the cover or picnic related items or events.
- Do a traditional spell-it-out challenge spelling out the word(s) associated with picnic (or the word picnic itself) using the first or last letter of a character's or author's first, last, or 'nick' name. Or you can use the first letter of the title. If the title begins with A, An, The, etc then you may use the first letter of the second word of the title.
