Notes to Boys PB cover

AHello GigglesItem of the Day One ofThe Hairpin‘s “15 books to read now”

“…what makes the book so good is that Grown-up Pam has enormous affection for Little Pam, who is, like a little sister, horribly embarrassing on the one hand and a fiercely protected loved one on the other. It’s a collection of embarrassing stories and mortifying notes, yes, but it’s also a pretty deeply felt memoir ab...

My Boyfriend Is a Bear by Pamela Ribon
"I now want a bear for a boyfriend."
My Boyfriend Is a Bear by Pamela Ribon
"I expected quirky. Based on growing buzz, I anticipated fun, charming, even sweet. The pleasant surprise was this work's poignancy.

Long before I had it in my hands, I knew the premise (girl meets bear, girl and bear fall for each other, etc.) and..." Read more of this review »
My Boyfriend Is a Bear by Pamela Ribon
"What if you chose a boyfriend completely outside the normal scope? Like, a bear. A real bear, who hibernates and doesn't talk? This is a completely believable story of what it would be like to date a bear...although they mostly skip the sex talk,..." Read more of this review »

Pamela Ribon, Why Girls Are Weird

“There's never the right last moment. Even if you get to say good-bye, even if you get to say "I love you", even if you jump off a plane and get a tattoo and hug everyone you've ever met right before you drift off with a smile, it is never the right last moment. There is always more to say, somewhere to go, something to remember. Another discussion, another fight. There is always supposed to be another day.”
Pamela Ribon, You Take It From Here

“There is something fascinatingly awkward about an author photo. I'm drawn to those glossy shots in the back of books, mostly because the subjects never look happy to be there.”
