I was on a C.S. Lewis kick so I skipped a couple that I had added because 5 is really ambitious. His books are jam packed with good stuff and heavy reads.
Edit: I took out the Meaning of Marriage because I think I'm waiting to read that until I'm dating or engaged, and put in Disappointment with God, added the same year.
Tally: 4/15

awesome! no pressure. Enjoy!
I'm gonna try a Georgette Heyer romance now (she writes sort of similar to Jane Austen, but she's witty/funnier in my opinion).

It ends well. A tiny bit predictably but well. I didn't see the part about (view spoiler) The indifference of Chloe's character when she left Will made me like Will more. I think Pavone in his writing style definitely tried to make Will likeable and almost succeeded, he definitely succeeded at the end for me. I'm not sure how I feel about Malcolm and I'm glad I never liked Elle.
Now that it's all said and done, I enjoyed the book at least a little and I'm glad I read it. It was a unique read and the writing style got me out of my comfort zone. That's pretty much it.

It was starting to pick up. It's interesting how the characters on both sides feel like they've been compromised and they're about to go under. Neither side looks or feels like they have the upperhand. And honestly I have no idea who I'm rooting for. Malcolm? Elle? Chloe? Will? It's all up in the air! We'll see how it goes!

It's getting better but it stills has a melancholy life-is-meaningless feel. Honestly I just want to get to the end. I want to find out how they all connect. And (view spoiler)

I'm curious but I'm enjoying it like I was some of the others I've read this year. I agree about the main character and it's hard to care what happens to him. I am curious about the other people who each have a backstory. (view spoiler)
I think the point of the book is for us to not be able to figure out what is going on. Otherwise it would be too predictable, too linear. I can't DNF the book because I'm too interested in how it ends, but it's not my favorite.

I just could not get engaged with this one. Part of the problem was also the audio narration which was just uninspiring. She did awful accents for the characters a..."
Honestly one thing that kept me going, feel free to call me a creeper, is that Susan Dennard and Sarah J Maas are best buds. (They dedicate books to each other). So I figured maybe Maas' writing talent can rub off on Dennard in the future? There's no denying which author has the better plots but I didn't give up because maybe Dennard still has it in her too...

I'm not sure what to think about Will yet either. I'm early on - chapter 5, and he makes some decisions I like and some I don't so I'm not sure. (view spoiler)
