35559 For me one bad thing that happens is I'll start a series thinking oh this looks good. But then I read it and it's too heavy or said or the main character is not up-to-par (Bella from Twilight anyone?) but because I can't not know how a story ends, I have to keep reading! It happened with Twilight, and the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. Also with Leigh Bardugo's Grisha Trilogy recently. Trying to decide if I'm reading the 3rd book or not. Don't shoot me, lol. Those books just got really heavy and the main characters changed a lot. But I couldn't put the books down so I just kept reading. I stopped iwth the Fever series after the 5th book, I was like NO MORE! I'm glad I read all of those series, but they just weren't my favorite types of stories. The Throne of Glass series just got heavy at the end of the 5th book, but I'm really engaged with Celeana so I can't stop. Lol.

35559 Last year I read 99 books, which is more than ever in one year for me. So it's hard to pick just one. I will say The two authors I devoured were Sarah J. Maas and Julie Kagawa. I read 7 of their books each in the space of one year. The stories were compelling and I could not get enough!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

I will try to participate in one BOM but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my hands on a copy of any of those.

35559 Hi Britta!

My housemate plays a lot of Overwatch. He got me into it a little but I'm really really bad at computer games.

Erin your work hours seem crazy!!!

Have I'm looking forward to having this team stretch my TBR!

Megan, all I can say is good luck with that! :P

35559 I don't mind at all!!

I think you guys might get me into the crime genre. But I think I like the less gory stuff but my imagination is very vivid and my heart is treally tender, so I can't handle the stuff my mind sees wheile I read about gory or violent killings. Now supenseful thrillers or less gruesome mysteries, that's different, lol.

35559 Hockey is so fun live!

Glad you enjoy different writing styles. This one is starting to feel sad for me because and MC is kind of losing his moral standards, he sees them floating away.

And MJ, I forgot about that one. Not been called that since highschool. :)

35559 Welcome Dima!

Brooke, what kind of writing style do you like? The Girl from Venice has a really unique writing style. It feels a little choppy. It's lyrical one minute and then next you realize, wait there's action, someone might get murdered. It reminds me of old black and white action/romance movies from the 40s or so.

I'm not watching the Playoffs but I got to go to a San Jose Sharks game a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Hockey is a fun sport to watch. And orange is my favorite color, so it was a bonus that the Sharks colors are turquoise and orange. :)

When I was at the DMV today, the lady was wearing a Sharks jersey :)

35559 Just now catching up!! Hi everyone!!
I'm enjoying reading your posts and getting to know you! But it's still before 7 am and I'm just about to drink my coffee (posting while it makes). I am not a morning person.

Erin, we're literally neighbors. I live in Walnut Creek and I'm looking for a place in Oakland to be closer to my church. 15 minutes from you probably.

I am reading The Girl from Venice and I will be done Later today for a challenge. Like MH said, we're starting Virals tomorrow. I've had on my tbr shelf since I saw that a friend who works as a YA librarian read it.

Wow Brooke, that's really neat! If you ever want to converse in Spanish just message me :)

Also Brooke, you like WW2 fiction and mysteries? I'm reading one right now called The Girl from Venice. I'm only 20% into it but it might be something you would enjoy. It's set in Italy towards the end of WW2.

Haha MH that's awesome! I try to text some friends in Spanish but autocorrect is always set to english so I have to carefully type out each word. But my computer for some reason has my keyboard language set to spanish.

35559 Hi Team!

I've been creeping on GR all day at work to see when our thread would be open! I've been pretty hyped about this challenge. It's my first Towers challenge :)

I go by Melanie, Mel, or MelanieJoy (pick your flavor of the week!) I was born in Louisiana, USA, but I've lived in many places, and currently live in California. I can be frequently found on GR during the work week (don't tell my boss!) but I'm mysteriously absent on weekends. I love reading, hanging with friends, making music, and doing lots of socializing and things with my church friends. I'm also outdoors hiking or just enjoying the sun when I can. My favorite genre is Fantasy, but I also like non fiction, humor, romance, and some mysteries when I buddy read with MH or when she tells me a book is too good to pass up :P.

I'm really excited to be on Team Han Solo and get to know all of you! It's also great to be reunited with MH, Megan, and Ozana from Wobble Team Dire Wolves!

35559 Is it bad that I fell asleep watching Rogue One in theatres at Christmas??

In my defense... it was 8pm and the chairs reclined all the way back... perfect napping position...

but I caught the last 30 minutes which were the most important... :P

(My dad kept trying to shake me awake and I kept shooing him off, hahaha)

35559 My RL friend Wendy, I call her my Padawan and she loves it. Also when I tell her I'm nervous or stressed about something she always says "The force is strong with this one" or something like that :)
