Kindle or Nook? (96 new)
Sep 29, 2011 11:44AM

35559 I'm a new nook user and although I love my nook I don't think I'll ever stop liking the feel of having a "real." book in my hand. Holding a reader instead of a book is still sort of an adjustment for me.

35559 Ya know? Not too long ago I went to my local library and participated in an e-reader class, where we learned how to get library books loaded onto our reading devices.

When I went to the class they were mainly talking about getting library books onto a nook or a regular pc, I think the next thing the library staff was working on was having a class for people that owned a kindle. I'm not sure if they've done that yet though.

35559 I really want to do this challenge! But I have feeling that the other October challenge I'm doing is going to take up most of my attention so I'm unfortunately gonna have to site this one out!

See ya in November!

35559 Me again! Another quick question! Has anyone ever read book called A Taste of Magic? if you have would you consider the heroine of the story Elizabeth Stevens a paranormal?

I guess she might have gypsy magic in her ancestry, so would that count as paranormal?

35559 Curious about something, would a teacher or a governess type of heroine be considered a brainiac?

35559 I was just wonder, I'm a new nook owner and awhile back I heard about a carrying case for the kindle and I was wondering if there was something similar available for the nook?

35559 Hi Jennifer! I have another question for you about this challenge it's sort of the same question I asked before but a little different.

I'm currently reading this book for another challenge that has the name Wanda in it. She's not the main character but she's one of the best friends of the main character and will later go on to have a story of her own.

Would she maybe count on this list?

35559 I'll keep that in mind if I ever have a kindle.

Hmmm I never thought about that, for me it's just as simple as the fact that I grew up with "real" books and even though I think I could learn to like my nook I think I'll always prefer "real" books.

35559 I may grow a certain attachment for my e-reader but I don't think I'll ever tire of having a "real" book in my hand.

35559 Good for you Sans! I'm still working on mine.

That's fine, but the thing is I already have some e-books but most of them are in pdf. format that's why I was wondering if there was way for me to take my pdf. format books from my computer and read them on my new nook.

35559 I looked at the first one and it was kind of helpful so thanks. I'm just wondering though is the epub format mostly for the nook?

I mean I'm kind of confused about which format is best for which e-reader.

35559 This has been kind of helpful I have a feeling that I'm just getting the regular nook because that's sort of what they hinted to when they talked about the contest.

Is there a review for the regular Nook? Because I can't shake this feeling that that's the one I'll be receiving.

The Nook touch review helped a little. Thanks Sashana!

35559 Oh thanks! I don't physically have it in my hands at the moment ya see the people who offered it as a prize just ordered it today.

It's from Barnes and Noble and I think it's just a regular Nook, I don't think it's a Nook color or anything like that.

Are there like specific types of Nooks? All I know so far is that the one I'm getting is from Barnes and Noble is that enough info?
